Less than a week to go and here we go again boys!! The drama, the excitement, the arguing, the craziness and the fulfillment of watching the New York Jets embark onto another journey and quest for a super bowl ring.

I'am amped to the 'upteenth degree. I'm like :smiley-bounce013:. No more hypotheticals, it will all by layed out come next Thursday as camp opens up. Tight battles, open competitions and the QB position that divides almost any Jets fan because they want whats best for this team.

Sundays are almost back, to where you wake up in the AM and already know how its already planned out. Smiles, gittiness and the guiltfree overwhelming feeling of anticipating to what you've waited for all week. Superstitions run high on game day. Trash talking goes beyond insults and laughter. All i gotta say, it's back!

Geno Smith, Bryce Petty, Marshall, Decker, Richardson, Wilk, Revis, Cro, Ivory, Our O-Line, Our D-Line, Our Revamped secondary....Our new nonsense ball coach..Jason Babin (just kidding). Just an new breath of fresh air where the impossible can be achieved. Hell yeah we win the Lombardi this year, damn straight!

My Jets dudes and dudettes........ THE GREATEST SPORT OF THE UNITED STATES IS BACK!! HOW AMPED ARE YOU!????

I gotta admit I'm not that hyped because of our QB issues only. I believe Geno can be a serviceable to a very good QB but does he believe that! Better yet, can he do it period? QB is the very back bone of a team and if you don't have that, then your season can go from great to horrible just that fast.

You have your situations like Baltimore or Tampa Bay or Chicago when they won because of defense first and a running game but their QBs were serviceable at the least. Do we have that in Geno, guess time will tell. Now some will say Fitzpatrick and if he can do it then so be it. Petty I think is a year or two away from being ready and he can actually turn out to be our future QB.

As of now its Geno and if he steps up, sky is the limit and all the reason to be hyped. If he doesn't then we may or will have some issues this year. Guess I have to see it first in the pre season and first 3-4 games before I can say I'm truly hyped.

i truly believe our boys can be a dangerous playoff team (yeah I said the P word) with slightly above average QB play.. anything above "slightly average" & all bets are off!!

plus i'm really looking forward to JFU being around for the start of the 2015 season..

LOLz the wheels had already fallen off the jets season by the time this board got up & running so it definitely will be fun to be here when (hopefully) we have the kind off season I believe we can..

go jets!!

If Geno or whomever the QB is plays average at least, the Jets can win 10 to maybe even 12 games. Below average QB play and the wins drop to 6-8 at most. Big difference in the W-L outcome and optimism level.

I am picking 10 wins. 3 reasons for my optimism: Turnover Margin, Red Zone Offense and schedule.

Last year we were 29th in the league in TO margin, including a ridiculous -15 during the 1-8 start that killed the season; 3 turnovers forced and 18 given up through 9 games. With the upgrades in the secondary, we should be able to force more TOs than last year, which should even out the TO margin even if we do not cut back on the TOs on offense.

Over the last 6 years, Jets have been 32-4 when they win turnover margin and 8-38 when they lose it. 10-10 when it is equal. Upgraded secondary, better pass rush and if we finally learn to take care of the ball on offense it could lead to a big one season turnaround.

Red Zone offense was dead last in the league last season -- scoring TDs on 36% of our red zone opportunities. The addition of Marshall and a healthy Decker -- along with Amaro give our QB (whoever he may be) 3 big red zone targets. Eliminate the cute gimmick offense we often ran in the red zone last year (no more Mike Vick split out as WR or wildcat BS) and we should improve this season. Last year we lost one game in OT and 3 more games by 3 points or less. Better red zone offense and we win a couple of those tight games.

Our offense does not need to be great -- in my opinion, we just need to take care of the ball and convert at an average rate in the red zone to be a much better team.

Last point was the schedule. Assume we go 3-3 in our Division and 2-2 against NFC East. I don't think 3-1 against AFC South is out of the question. We should beat Tenn & Jax at home and Houston is beatable in their building. That leaves two games against Oakland and Cleveland to get to 10.

The main reason i see optimism for the Jets this season are because of the parrallels i see with Bowles & Parcells. Not saying Bowles is Parcells, its just i keep thinking of the '96 season with Rich Kotite at 3-13 having Neil O'Donnell at QB. Parcells, with his no none sense approach and diciplinary finger prints all around the team, even made O'Donnell a serviceable QB in '97.

Bowles comes from a lineage of excellent head coaches, Joe Gibbs, Bill Walsh, Bill Parcells, Andy Reid and lastly Bruce Arians. The guy maybe a rookie head coach, but he is no rookie to handling players and how to operate a football team

Lets face it, Geno Smith needs discipline in his game and character. He has lacked that his 1st two seasons. Hell, the past two seasons almost every player in that locker room was free to do anything without being repremanded. Willie Colon jumping off sides or the offense making ridiculous and costly mistakes to the defense playing wreckless having players call time out from the sidelines (sheldon) to cost a game tying TD against the Pack.

I just have a sense that this year will be very much like '97, the only difference is that Bowles will be around longer than just three seasons.

I can agree with this 100%. Discipline will help everyone and especially Geno. If Mac, Bowles and the other coaches brings that to the table, then optimism definitely seems to make sense. Those three years with Parcells were the days to remember.

I am the most pumped for a season since probably 1999, and 2010. But maybe most ever, after what we endured the last 4 years.

I truly believe we will compete this year, I really do.

I could not be happier so far with Bowles and Mac, and love that we have a coach that wants to score more than the opponent.

I also absolutely love the preseason and seeing the daily reports here and on ESPN and NFL Network. Lots of interesting stories for the Jets in TC.

Super pumped!!!!

I am optimistic and scared. When's the last time the team had high hopes and we met them?

I'm not now that you ask. The world sucks right now. The Jets suck on offense. They'll be a pathetic bottom feeding team! They'll be a laughingstock! My life is sh*t. I will forever have hairs across my A$$!

The Jets defense has been so poor at turning over the ball in the last 4 years that Rex was certainly not coaching them up inn that area. There was clearly no excuse for the team to be so dominant and yet so poor at turning the ball over.

I submit that this defense will turn the ball much more than in recent years. They would have to based on such limited numbers the last 4 or so seasons.

I hear ya. The Jets always seem to find away to crush our dreams and hopes. I believe most of us can deal with a excellent to very good regular season and decent playoff run. At least winning one game in the playoffs but to totally flop like they've done so many times is just crushing. I'm trying not to be optimistic but I'm a die hard Jets fan so the closely it gets to the season, it just naturally builds. I have to see the preseason and maybe two-three games in the regular season before I just loss it in optismism.
