He led several QB's to career years, but defenses historically have figured him outafter 2 years. Now of course there's several layers going on in a game. You'd like to think Gailey could find a way to keep defenses guessing, after all,the Patriots have an extremely simple offense,they run about 10 plays and then just switch wr positions within those plays.

Bingo...The Patriots do something else when the going gets tough too. Trent Green alluded to it, because the offense was sputtering...Green said they needed to ignite the offense by changing the pace. I couldn't agree more. Playing up tempo/no huddle is a great way to get very good D's to open the field, because they resort to basic D's, and allow for playmakers to take advantage.
Let's give some credit where it's due. KC man's up nicely on all 3 levels of the D. It's really hard to get an O established when said D doesn't have to make up for a deficiency on any level. Changing the pace helps, and Fitz can absolutely do that...BTW, Forte would get help with that too. Whether you're running to set up the pass, or visa versa, the whole O goes into hibernation when a D can man up is clicking. It doesn't get spoken about enough, but RB's in a hurry up pile up yards too, and you can get an O back on track, bc it will set the pass up.
I like Gailey, and the schemes he runs...he does move Defensive pieces with his routes, but he doesn't seem to recognize when the QB needs some help.
