Dude, me too. I keep going back to the same thought: JD and Saleh have seen ZW's performance ceiling the last two seasons. I just can't imagine that they actually believe he can become a franchise QB. And that they'd both risk getting shit canned next season if they go back to ZW and he fails the team again.
I see zero problem with this statement. He basically saying he is sticking with white at least for the next game. It’s whites job to lose. Zach is second pick only on the second year of his rookie deal. You do not just cut that. Saleh is saying he will get another chance. Whether that is 2 weeks from now if white stinks it up against the Vikes or next year in training camp is completely on Whites performance.
i really don't either because all he's doing is disingenuous coach speak at a presser trying to help keep wilson's spirits up.. it's already a saleh go to move with his locker room & in fairness a pretty good one..
Saleh and JD seem like logical guys. We (and they) already know the deal with Zach. They don’t know what they really have in MW. Can MW beat the Vikes? Yeah… he can. Minn defense isn’t all that good. They aren’t tremendous rushing the passer and the secondary isn’t that good. They are the most unimpressive 9-2 team I’ve seen. It all depends of if we get good Kirk or bad Kirk. Now Buffalo…. That’s gonna be a tall order, especially there.. But you gotta give MW the remainder of the games period. At least you will know what you have in him after a 6 game sample. Now Zach…. I highly doubt we see him again. If MW gets us to the playoffs, even if we lose first game…. Zach’s people will request a trade at the beginning of the new league year. No way are they putting him in a 3 way battle with MW, Minshew, Jimmy G or Carr… cause he will finish last
I like MW as a backup but let’s not forget what happens against good defense with 4 INTERCEPTIONS and some fugazy injury when things not going well. I know players feel MW is one of the guys because he parties with them and Zach doesn’t do that smoking weed and drinking. Every first round pick would want the Jets to give them as many chances as possible to show they was right picking them in first round. So players needs to back off their stupid comments. Easy it could happen to them and how they would cry then.

aside from football an his approach to being an NFL QB i've never heard white talk about anything aside from his young family & close friends..
The Patriots game completely turned off many fans and pundits on Wilson. He game manages his way to victories most of the year, and then has one truly awful game, and it’s an open and shut case for these fans. No more, I’ve seen enough, he’s a bust, no more Wilson.
The bad news for them is that Saleh and JD don’t think like this. And Wilson will more than likely be competing for the starting job next year. They’d be unbelievably dumb to treat this any other way.
i can't say if you're aware of this or simply unwilling to acknowledge that through 20 games wilson has historically awful numbers..
retired players, former NFL executives, former coaches, fans, jet fans & pundits all have come to the same conclusion.. wilson is not good at NFL football.. hell, even prominentent current teammates had to take down likes from twitter posts lighting up wilson's attitude & play..

Guess which is ZW and which is Vinny T? You already know the answer. Sometimes QB's start slow in their career and take a little while to figure it out. you simply do not give up on a #2 pick 2 years into his career when you have him on contract for 2 more years CHEAP and dont have to make a decision on his 5th until the end of next year. he absolutely deserves a chance to compete for the starting job again next year. Does Mike White deserve the start this week and to finish the year if his play warrants? HELL YES he does. but to just give up 100% on ZW this early makes zero sense.

Are you willing to acknowledge that fans are quicker on the trigger moving on from players than GM’s are? I hope so, because you’re going to be disappointed next year if not. JD and Saleh still believe in Wilson. Unless they’re boldface lying to everyone. Saleh would be giving the “no comment” response if he was done with Wilson. They’re not bailing on this kid yet. i won't disappointed if wilson is on the roster next season.. mostly because i don't see a scenario where wilson earns back his starting spot from white & if white is not the guy the carr's & garoppolo's of the world would be..
& hell yeah saleh can be lying his absolute ass off on his feelings about wilson's attitude & play in pressers.. what would saleh's motivation be to say he agrees wilson can't play & we burned the 2nd pick in the draft on the wrong guy?!
