I'm 46. Born in 70. I have also never seen this team win it all. Although I know it can not possibly be as bad as posters are making it out to be, I do think correcting this team will take tons of luck and multiple years before we ever get to enjoy this team again.

Enjoy? It depends. I would take a year or two of slow, but steady, progress if the club was young and on the rise. If a young potential franchise QB was surrounded by developing pieces, working up from, say, .500 seasons, but on the upward trajectory, I could get enjoyment out of that.

I guess for me, I can handle a 9-loss season if these is both youth and progress, though that is as low as I would go, 7-9. A lot of vets going sub-.500, though? No, thanks. A veteran team shouldn't be any worse than 9-7 for me to enjoy.

I'm with you on this. This old ass team has no excuse for a season like this. Fitzgarbage showed up last year so there was no reason for his performance this year. Other then the fact it was truly a fluke, he's garage as shit and his history has shown that. We do have lots of youth but none of them has shown up, other then Williams really but the majority of this team is vets in their prime or passed it. It will take a very slow and correct progression for this to be fixed the right way. As long as it's done that way, I can handle 3-4 more years of losing to 8-8 seasons.

I am the same age and obviously born the same year. So we both barely missed the Jets SB boat, lol. I've been true and green with this team since 82 and I'm really getting tired of their bullshit. This has gots at change and has to be done the right way. I can take another 3-4 years of rebuilding to a SB contender and winner. If it's done the right way because doing it that way means years of success and not one hit wonders like other teams have done.

Of course, MM cannot be excused for the level of "talent" he has given TB. Time to throw in the towel and undertake a multi-year rebuild--without TB or MM. Trying to do a competitive rebuild simply isn't in the cards, as we have few players that can play at this level.

I started rooting for this team in 1968 and have been a season ticket holder since 1978. This team reminds me of the Jets team of 1975 & 1976. Not only did they have bad records (3-11) but they were not even competitive in most games. I always considered the 1976 team the worst Jets team ever!

This team is in a5 year rebuild already. Starting with mac's hiring.
If pettys injuries in 2 straight games don't show you why Bowles stuck with Fitz for so long,nothing will.

You can't fire a coach after 2 seasons with poor talent. For one thing,no coach would come near this team if Bowles was fired. Put yourself in the shoes of a coach, the Jets have no sure nfl qb, a complete lack of depth from idzik, and expect you to win in 2 years or you'll be fired.

Bowles is not a bad coach, he's a young coach. We have a holes on this team that we need to unload. I like mac's drafts and acumen in finding trades or fas. We will continue to draft and develop under mac, but remember, it's all about finding a qb. Until we find the guy, our qb play is irrelevant.

Not really sure what you are talking about. As I have always said on this board, putting petty in behind a terrible line is a great way to get him killed. And clearly this offense is even worse under petty than Fitz. Not that Fitz was any good this year. But at least putting Fitz in front of the firing squad protected your young guys from getting murdered.

As I said, I guess Bowles wasn't an idiot for holding petty back as long as possible, and for not dressing hack. He's protected the future of these guys somewhat. If fans got their way we'd have petty and hack on ir and we'd be giving Testaverde a call.

44 years for me. Jumped aboard in 72 just in time to catch what was left of Namath from the waste up. This has got to be about as hopeless a feeling there is as a Jets fan. No Qb, no Oline, no secondary, no coaching staff. Right now I don't think there's a team in the NFL they can beat. Screw the Browns an 49er wins. They've humiliated themselves since.
