Mahomes at 6th wouldnt surprise me from Mikey Mac who took a 6th-7th round pick in 2nd round. First big chance as GM in NFL after 2 awful Drafts of no starters, but hey sharpen up the Darts Mikey & pin the Players names on your Dart Board because thats exactly how it looks like you have been Drafting.

Who was the 6th and 7th round pick Mac took in the 2nd..... Cause literally the consensus on Hack was somewhere between late 2nd to late 3rd... And the Cowboys are on record saying they were taking Hackenberg at pick 67 in Rd 3 if he was there.....So 1 site pro football focus Hack as a late draft pick to not draftebable but 2 NFL teams that felt he was a late 2nd or early 3rd pick.... Along with most other scouting sites... NY Media Overreacts to the pick and the sheep follow that tag line.....

Go search on google Draft Projections for Hackenberg and easily the consensus among just about every draft sites and pundits was 2nd -3rd round...

Huh? What article & writer saying NFL teams coveted Hackenburg was a 2/3 pick in Draft? Write it down so I can look it up, because majority scout & NFL Teams I read had Hackenburg going in 6th-7th round & zero had him going any higher than 5th . I do know also he was late rounds based on his play & said he was a HUGE risk/reward pick or boom or bust pick hence having him going in 6th-7th round.

I know most people aren't high on Hackenberg at all because of what they've read in the papers. But can we give the kid an offseason and some game reps to see what he has? Bowles and Mac said they had a plan for him when they drafted him. They knew he needed work. He needs some time. He has all the physical tools. In fact, he is a prototype NFL QB from a size and arm talent standpoint. He's also by all accounts is a great kid with a great work ethic and a leader. He got his ass kicked at Penn State and still hasn't recovered. He might never recover. Then again, he might. The media and talking heads bash this guy non-stop. Let the kid have some time to develop. Now with that said, I do like Watson and would be happy if we took him.

I think Watson would be a curveball. I think Mahomes would be a major curveball. In my opinion, unless the Jets trade back, they shouldn't draft a QB. If they trade back a few spots and take Watson, I'd be happy. Mahomes less so. The reason there is, Texas Tech offense. It's like Madden football. It doesn't translate. He could be a great one, just think it would be a reach in the first round. Watson has a track record. The kid wins.

If mac goes qb in first round, outs a boom or bust pick. Since no qbs in this draft project as a starter, I wouldn't be shocked if they all tumble into the second round. I'd trade back and take peppers mid round.

I'm with you on this one. I would like to see if Hack has anything to offer. I was pissed that he wasn't ready to play at all last year. Especially with Dak lighting it up, knowing we could have drafted him instead of Hack in 4 rounds. Hell Cody Kessler didn't look half bad but that's past tense and we move on from there. Now that we have Hack, let the kid play this year and let's see what he can give us. Now what will piss me off to high heavens, is if Hack isn't ready to play this year as well. Doesn't matter how shitty this team will be this year, Hack should be ready to take the beating and contribute a bit to show something promising. Either he has it or he doesn't!!! As far as the college beating he took, he better be over it because, if he isn't he has no chance in the NFL. Especially on the Jets!!!

I think Petty has had his chance and now it's Hack's turn to show us what he is about. If McCown ends up being our starter, we have a REAL HUGE PROBLEM HERE JETS FAITHFUL!!! Tells me Hack and Petty can't beat out a old, reject, wash-out multiple team career back-up QB. McCown will actually be worse then Fitzshitty and if Hack and Petty can't beat McCown out, we have a real big problem here Jets faithful. As for them drafting a QB this year that's fine but let it be in the later rounds and maybe we hit the lotto like Dallas did last year with Dak. IMO, if the Jets pick a QB in the 1st or 2nd round then they have no faith in Hack and (obviously Petty) or they just don't know what the hell they are doing. Can't win in this league for the most part without a real QB but the Jets have drafted one the past 4 years straight. Gotta develop and let them play to see if one of them is the one!!!

Dak would have looked completely different on the Jets.

Don't believe it!!! Either you have it or you don't and Dak obviously has it. I'm not saying the Jets would have won 10 games with him pretty much carrying the team and he would have been rookie of the year. Not saying that but what I am saying is he would have shown us that we can win with him and he can be a future franchise QB. Even on a struggling team like the Jets. If you have the goods then you have it and it will show, no matter what!!!

Note: look at L. Williams, he has the goods and showed it the past two years. Even on a defense that was struggling the past two years. IMO, Dak would have been no different. As far as Hack is concerned, just because Hack didn't play last year doesn't mean he doesn't have it but he better be ready to be on the field this year and show something or we have a problem here.

I hope the Jets will remember the line spoken by Will Smith in Independence Day, "Don't do nothin' stupid".
