kid was rusty and still gets out there a bit too amped. what shouldn't be missed is he is making the correct reads - that to me is the biggest hurdle a QB needs to make. Is he 100% on them, no. Is it his problem? No.
Cuppa things - we're going to deal with the improvised plays period. that's part of his skillset - so Sunday you combined that with a panic toss and you get the INT. Didn't hear it mentioned on the broadcast but he looked to be over the LOS anyways - so a bonehead play all around.
Game will slow down for him - that is the biggest issue right now - but that is not one that concerns me. He needs to keep playing to experience everything he needs to see. That will take time. He was locked on Elijah in one on one coverage, probably was wetting his jock wanting to snap that ball......but Elijah slipped and there was no time for plan B. Overzealous there that in time he might fire it away as soon as he sees the slip.
Just seems that the OC and QB are not on same page quite yet.......but we're getting there. It was huge to have the kid orchestrate the comeback and not have to shoulder it all. Was expecting a better start to 4th qtr from him, but he rallied when needed to make the big first down throw late.
after starting 1 for 5.....finished 13 for 19...68%,,,that's what we want to see over course of entire game. It's only matter of time.
