I had a chance in 84-85 to choose giants or jets I watched both teams and the giants were boring to watch even though they won and the jets with o'brien throwing 70 yard td's to walker and toon i was hooked and have been paying for it ever since............my brother at the time who was younger sided with my step-dad and choose the giants.......................uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what could have been?
LOL, I remember those years of the O'Brien to Toon and Walker combo and the battles against Marino and Kelly. We were getting it handed to us back then pretty much also, lol. Man its HARD, FUCKING HARD to be a Jets fans but hopefully one of these years (REAL SOON) it will be rewarding and all worth it. J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!

yep one thing you can say about the jets until recently with o'donnel and just about every qb since exception of favre and pre-injury penny we can make losing look beautiful.

Jets fan since 1969.

I'm done paying such close attention. I don't have the energy or the time anymore.

Not following the draft this year.
Not following training camp this year.
Not following preseason this year.

I'll see you in September.

:17: I hate to tell you, but being back in September is only going to bring you the same heartache. It sucks, I know. I lived through all of the very tearful moments of the past. Gastineau's dickhead play on Bernie Kosar, AJ Duhe, kickoff returns, missed field goals, I have seen just about all of it. But I can honestly tell you that backing off a little bit is NOT going to fix the inevitable heartbreak this team always brings. I swear this team must be cursed. The only things that makes me believe otherwise is that Bill Parcells was our HC once upon a time and I knew if he had stayed long enough he would have broken through any curses. Follow the team, just don't become so emotionally invested in it. That's what leads to the heartache.

Its comical that you don't see the many blunders of Gailey Offense. Do you think putting Jets Defense on the field yesterday in 1st quarter for 9 mins. is ok? Do you really feel there is no reason to use our TE's all season? Do you really feel showing Defenses if its a run or pass play with no RB or 1 WR on the field? There is a reason why no one hired Gailey, he just isn't a good Coach. Maybe look at todays teams like Pats who know how to use TE's & call crucial 3rd down plays to their best players. Are you really Blaming Jets Defense for that loss yesterday? Really? Gailey might as well had Fitz out there with sticks & bottle caps drawing in the dirt.

Sorry, I disagree G. They were there because they could stop the bills on 3rd downs period. That game was lost because of the defense schemes and lack of adjustments and poor ST not the O. We had a top ten O this year, 2 WR with 1K and a rb w/1k. That is without a viable Hback....

Look, this is one of the best Offenses I've ever seen with talent in the NFL. So then whats the issue in your opinions? Why aren't Jets in Playoffs? Lack of talent on Offense in your eyes? If you took Pat OC & gave him this Roster of talent Jets would be for sure going to the super bowl. If Jets have the Players to put up these kind of numbers then its poor scheming by OC & use of the talent in crucial situations. I cant blame the good Players on Offense for the play calling that puts them in tough spots.
One of the best offenses ever, talent-wise? Ever?? I was happy with the players they brought in, and even happier with the result for the most part, but they're not the most talented offense in the league right now (Pittsburgh, even without Leveon Bell?), let alone historically - Colts with Manning/James/Harrison and a great OL, 90s Cowboys, Warner's Rams, Favre's Packers to name a few off the top of my head. I'm just glad they're one of the better O units this year, instead of one of the worst - hope you were exaggerating saying they were one of the best you've ever seen.

I totally feel you! I checked out for a good chunk of the 90's. Just couldn't take it anymore. We'll be here when you get back!

2010 the Jets were this far |------| away from it all.
Same thing happened this year.
HYATT™ is extremely bummed, but the difference between making the playoffs and getting knocked out in the divisional round by CIN or DEN as the #6 seed, is negligible.
HYATT™ never expected more than a decent run at the playoffs - certainly not the whole ball of wax - this season.
But HYATT™ is STILL fookin' bummed out by that last loss and not making the playoffs at all.
Especially considering how badly the Packers played - WITH the so-called best QB in the NFL - and STILL landed a WC berth.
Jets deserved a shot.
They didn't get it.
Life is a really cantankerous bich some days.

Not much our whining can do to change things now

Time to move on to 2016. The ball is in your court Mighty Mac and Todd

My only rooting interest for the next NFL month is the filthy stinking cheating scumbags getting their asses kicked out and, even more betterest, Tammy getting her head ripped off by a defensive lineman or her knees blown out and her career of cheating ended for good

I don't plan on watching more than a minute or two of any of the upcoming exhibitions of shitty officiating and massive overdoses of commercials, lame hour long halftime shows starring talentless turds and tape head "experts" (all of whom predicted a 5 win last place finish for the Jets) telling us how "really great" these games are

Rant concluded

"I'm done" until the start of free agency

Fellow Jets fans, as we wallow in self-pity, let me remind you of two things:

1. The Jets aren't the only team that has stuff like this happen to them, and
2. The Jets have plenty of games/moments that were not SOJ.

Many years ago I tried to make myself feel better by making your #1 statement above. Then I tried thinking of teams that were like the Jets. I came up with the Eagles and heck they even wore green. The next season we hired the eagles fired coach. Richie Kotite. Since then I will never think that other teams are as cursed as the Jets.

There are far more teams than that. Hell, it happens to even the more fortunate teams. Look at how the Ravens lost that playoff game against the Pats. Imagine if that had been the Jets losing to the Pats like that.

You should be done with them. The Jets suck. They always do just enough to get you hooked and then they screw you. What happened last Sunday? That is a PERFECT example of what I am talking about. Honestly, this very scenario crossed my mind many times over the course of the week.

No, really you should still be a fan, but like you said, maybe not as close as you've been in the past? I have often thought it could be better for your health. A kind of "stand offish" attitude can often protect you from the very real emotional pain and anguish that goes along with being a Jets fan.
