i still believe bowles won't start either of the kids unless he's mandated..
I may be the only one on this site who thinks Petty wasn't as bad as all that last year. He was constantly under siege behind a terrible line and he took a pounding. He has a big arm. I haven't given up on him.
don't forget about the painfully conservative play calling..
gailey & bowles didn't do the kid any favors..
very big OTAs/training camp/preseason coming up for petty.. i'll rooting for the kid..

The more I think about it, the more I believe Bowles will be going full on youth movement. I don't think anyone's job will be safe. I don't think Bowles is the smartest HC I've ever seen, but he's certainly not dumb. He's got one season before this young roster starts to take shape. This year he can conduct all of the abstract competitions he'd like and it doesn't matter. The Jets suck in 2017 and everyone knows it. But in 2018 and beyond this team will be expected to play better. The fans will want results and that will change Toilets priorities............
