Interesting thought

One of my many teenage great-grandsons made an interesting complaint against the NFL at our holiday shindig yesterday. He believes that the NFL is trying to prevent fans from going to games to support their teams thus removing the 12th player effect from the game. How, I asked ? His answer...............international games. There are already several and they add more every season. It's obvious the NFL makes more money selling our games to foreign countries than they do from ticket sales here in the USA. He asked me how many fans I knew that traveled to international games. My answer. I don't know any who do that. After some consideration, I've come to the conclusion that he has a valid point. What do you guys think ? ..........Not that we could do anything about it anyway.

They're following the money.
As long as each team only has one international games on its schedule and that rotates between home and away games, it would only seem to enhance the fervor of those home fans to go to the games they can.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and humans want something more when you reduce access to it.

I'm not a psychologist, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

I don't think the 12th man scenario is a reality.se The league is looking to increase it's revenue and to eventually expand globally. The expanded season assumes fans the same # of home games.

I think the 12th man can really impact the game but it also depends on a teams fan attendance at their games and mostly at home. I believe that you are correct that expanding games is all about creating more revenue but moving games with the current number of teams out of the country does, in fact, make those games more difficult to attend for most USA fans who don't travel internationally. My concern about adding more games, and they are planning to go to 18 in the near future if they can get all interested parties to agree, is the wear and tear on players. We fans, of course, would love more football, but if they keep adding to the season, they will have to find a way to address that wear and tear and the possible additional resulting injuries which they are already struggling to reduce with rule changes. They could increase the size of the roster to include more players to rotate in but they would also have to increase the cap to pay the additional players. So basically adding to the season will sooner or later require some other adjustments............... ;)

I believe the intention is to add teams in the international market. A European conference, south American Conference. As revenue grsows, so doe the cap. Expanded rosters are going to be necessary, as will elimination of pre season games. Likely replaced by scrimmages during camp. IR rules have been changed already.
I'm not a fan but believe if the money is there that will be the future
