Is O-Tackle Jack Conklin best fit for Jets at 20?

The concept, in a perfect world, makes sense for New York to snag Michigan State's Tackle Jack Conklin. The issue, again, is him being there when New York picks.

The Jets, right now, have a need at both guard and tackle positions.

While starting guard Brian Winters is solid, he’s far from a stud. Starting right tackle Breno Giacomini is coming off arguably the worst season of his career, and if released, can free near $4 million in cap space.

Regarded as arguably the best tackle in the draft, a scout said he has a “hard time” seeing him slip past the Philadelphia Eagles, if he gets out of the Top 10.

But if he were? GM Mike Maccagnan may run from Florham Park to Chicago himself to hand in the draft card himself to add Jack Conklin to New York’s offensive line.

You already know how I feel. I would love to add that monster initially at RT and to replace Brick later on down the road.

Agreed. We should always credit the original content creator regardless if links leave a backdoor for hackers. It's our job to protect this place.

Onto to the topic of this article. I will be happy with a oline rb or lb in this years draft. Conklin will be a great addition.

Mac has stated he will fill holes through FA and then draft the BAP. This is his primary philosophy and I believe he really means what he says (see Leonard Williams). He also stated at the combine that need will only come into play as a tie-breaker. Therefore, it doesn't matter if Jack Conklin is the best fit for the Jets. If he is not the BAP, the Jets will select someone else.

BTW... I LOVE this philosophy. It is what most of the perennial contenders do.
