Is there any chance Bowles gets fired after the season?

I am done with the guy. He is very clearly in over his head. He was hired to be the Anti-Rex, to bring some control and structure to the locker room. He was hired as a defensive guy to bring this defense forward with few adjustments needed (the defense already had some pieces in place).

The results is a team in disarray. A defense that is pathetically over matched every week. A secondary that is worst in the league. A DL that underperforms every week. Two top notch D linemen that show up for meetings late. One linemen that was given a 100 million dollar contract and he doesn't care what the HC wants. This, while this defense gaining the very best Defensive lineman in the last few years to come into the league.

The offense is awful from top to bottom. This team has a few WR's, but the QB situation sucks and the HC is far too stubborn to start the youth. The OL has to be the worst in the league. The RB's are sadly overmatched trying to run behind that line.

This team at this point needs to be rebuilt altogether. Bowles cannot motivate. He cannot manage the clock well. He coaches not to lose. His defense gets gashed for big play after big play after big play. The players always look like they are sleepwalking and penalty prone.......

So I ask the question........Will Woody see how bad this situation is and do the right thing? Because I have no doubt Mac won't fire Bowles even though he should.

There is a chance. He has made enough poor decisions to make it a possibility.

That said, most well-run organizations are not as kneejerk as fans are, especially Jets fans. Continuity defines most solid organizations, and if the Jets want to be solid, they cannot employ the revolving door mentality, despite the outrage of fans and the media.

A lot will depend on where the players are at the end of the season. If he lost the locker room with some key guys, he's done. If they still believe in him, he's safe. Mo Wilkerson will play a much bigger role in this than one might think. Does he feel his benching was pointless, and that everyone on the team has tuned out Bowles? Or does he feel it was merited, and that he needs to set a better example?

There is definitely a chance - more related to stars missing and being late to meetings, etc. than their W-L record. Players who respect their coach as the leader of the team don't do that. I would even say it is likely if he doesn't keep this team playing hard the rest of the way.

yes there is a chance, there is always a chance but is highly unlikely...

we have the short term coaching staffs here and it fractured the locker room... Woody is not in charge, he relinquished responsibilities to Macc like yester years... But if Woody fires Macc then all bets are off...

At worst we can see some coaching staff changes at best this off season... Season is far from done, and they can rebound again highly unlikely but one never knows...

As others said if the team plays as poorly as it has, doesn't improve and that to me is key and he has lost the locker room...he is toast. I couldn't fathom Woody or Mac keeping him in that scenario.

However, we are speaking about the JETS here right? I mean in all the years I have the misfortune (AAAAAAAAA I mean pleasure) watching this team nothing would surprise me, nothing.

I say lets nominate MJ for coach, Sack for DC and Seaver for OC. I am all in!!!!

Today was 100% on the coaching staff and no one else. Bryce Petty was handcuffed and shackled in the 2nd half. You must give your QB an opportunity to win the game and this CS decided against it. At this point, I just hope these pathetic efforts continue and we lose out the season. If that happened, it would definitely impress upon Mac and Woody that Todd Bowles needs to be fired.

I already feel confident that Todd Bowles is NEVER going to get better. The coach we have right now is the coach we will always have.

As far as I'm concerned, If Mac refuses to fire Bowles then he should be fired also. The fact is, Mac fucked up in a big way during this offseason also. He completely neglected the OL and what is the number 1 reason in your estimation as to why we lost today? So Mac deserves some blame. How much I'll leave that up to you to decide.

Mac should be made to confess that he did a poor job with the offseason and he should confess that he made a mistake hiring Todd Bowles. Bowles is a horrible HC. If Woody can get Bowles fired that would automatically be a step in the right direction..........

But do you really, honestly, or CONFIDENTLY know he will get fired after this season??? Because see I cannot see that happening. I am 95% certain that Todd Bowles will get at least one more season to coach this team. That is just going to make my life and yours and all Jets fans miserable.

I cannot even bear the thought of having to live through Todd Bowles for another season. And yet I completely see it happening.

I mean looking at this logically, no one from ownership, Mac is not being asked about Todd Bowles job security. Normally, if you think there's a chance someone will be fired, you would have at least heard that ownership was not happy. I haven't even heard that...........

And the final New Years Day game has about 6 fans in attendance .

Does Bowles deserve to be fired? Maybe. Depends on how the season finishes up. If the season continues this way, with stupid 12 men on the field penalties, an inability to score in the red zone, and idiots showing up late for meetings, then we clearly need someone to bring a little more discipline to this team.

Will Bowles be fired? Doubt it. He'll probably get one more year.

I think Bowles needs to clean up the sloppy penalties, for sure.
But I wonder how much of this season really is because of shitty talent. After rex and idzik, we were a barren team. Aging vets,zero depth, zero draft picks contributing. What mac has done is incredible, but we are so far down in the hole it's going to take 4 good drafts to get out.
Which shows how lucky we were last year to be knocking on the playoffs door.

We have Leonard Williams on the line, Lee at lb, we need a shark in the secondary. And we'll have our beasts up the middle on d.
We need an entire o line overhaul, and none of those guys matter without finding a qb.
