It has now been 120 years for me.

No last night was my 25th wedding Anniversary :global (31):so it is not that. But between the Cards (70) & jets (50). I think I have waited long enough. for a trophy. Just think if I were a Pats & Giants fan.....well I can't count that high. Add in the Blues that have never won I am really in trouble.........but the Cardinals (baseball), Celtics & Bruins have done me well.

Anyway I say in the next seven years one of my teams will win the SB & maybe two or three between both of them.

As far as being a Giants & Pats fan.......no way! :global (7): I still love my red & green.

Also, I was not around for the Cards last win as the Chicago Cardinals.........

I'm a Mets/Jets/Rangers fan, and I was born in 1974, which means in the roughly 130 seasons those teams have played since I was born (with one World Series and one Stanley Cup not held for work stoppages), I've seen all of two titles in my life, the 1986 Mets and the 1994 Rangers.

I feel your pain.

Mets, Jets and Nets.
But I've been married 50 years, so our pain is about equal.

You've been around so long, you remember the Mets' first title, as the New York Metropolitans of the American Association from back in 1884.

I taught Casey Stengel public speaking.
He paid me in pieces of eight.

Me too and as it turns out he's just a young wipper snapper. Oh well, I won't hold that against him because he mostly sounds mature and in pain like us.

I've been around a while too, and I can assure you the Mets' first title was in 1969. That led to George Burns' statement (while playing God in a movie) that his last miracle was the '69 Mets.

There was a team in the 1800s, though, in the American Association, before the formation of the American League. It was called the New York Metropolitans, and they won the AA back in 1884.

Interesting. But does that team have any real connections to today's Mets, like the old New York Titans do to today's Jets? Or is it just that the teams share a name with no real ties?

You think you guys are old. I can remember way back before cheating became acceptable and the patriots were worse then the Jets. That feels like at least a couple hundred years ago

No connection, just a shared name.

Though they did both play at the Polo Grounds.
