That may be true but it doesn’t necessarily make him a better QB than Lawrence, now does it? I don’t care which one the Jets pick I just want them to pick the best one. The one that’s going to be not only a franchise HOFer but help the Jets win a few SBs. Lawrence is being talked about in that light. Fields isn’t really at this point.
Picking the best one? Always a crap shoot , no one really knows how it will play out in the NFL

Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who plays like he was created in a lab trying to build the perfect NFL quarterback prospect, is the favorite to be picked No. 1 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Right behind him in most NFL prospect rankings and college quarterback rankings is Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, who was the No. 2 quarterback in the same class as Lawrence.
While you literally can't go wrong with either of them at quarterback, the numbers from Fields' first season in Columbus show that Ryan Day might actually have the more proficient passer on his hands.
Fields also put up his numbers in the Big Ten, a conference featuring the likes of Penn State, Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa. Lawrence's Tigers faced little to no opposition in an ACC that is struggling to find a second competent team as Florida State and Miami continue to struggle.
If the 2021 season goes as planned, both of them should end up as top five picks, perhaps even going No. 1 and No. 2 back-to-back.
Both of these players are going to be Heisman contenders next season and stars at the pro level, but the gap between them isn't nearly as big as it seems. In fact, Ohio State might actually have the more productive quarterback at the college level.
