Yeah I remember that. Don't see how it has any bearing on this situation. Elway never played a down for the Colts. He had no ties to them and while what he did was unheard of it was not even close to what Putz Mal did. Adams tried to circumvent the process while he was under CONTRACT to another team. What I saw in 11 years of military service was as a matter of rotation not necessarily to replace misfits. The Jets have to stop dipping into the misfit pool, ( I'm excluding JD from this pool for the time being as I think he has done well so far), when trying to upgrade the teams leadership.

Separate your emotions from reality. Jamal was a leader for 3 years. He wanted out of the organization. Once this off season drama started, I wanted him traded as bad as anyone, but that in no way diminishes his talent and or leadership prior.

At the end of the day, this is all about building the team correctly around Darnold. Jamal was and is an excellent player but lets not get it confused, he isn't Ed Reed, Troy Polomalu, Eric Berry, Charles Woodson or Earl Thomas. These were play making safeties at its elite and they were all over the field. Jamal was more of a box, linebacker, Ronnie Lott type of guy and he was no where near as good as Lott, at least not right now. So the Jets made the trade and got a haul but what are they going to do with it? Who are they going to draft?
We all know Seattle will be playoff contenders as long a R. Wilson is still there. So that means for the next 7-10 years, most likely Seattle will always be drafting in the bottom half. So the Jets will be drafting with their picks anywhere from 20-32. What will they do with that? Will they draft a HOF olineman or WR or DE or CB or RB? If so, then this will work out perfectly but if they draft the typical flop players they have been over the past 10 plus years that don't even make it past their first contracts then we've accomplished NOTHING!!!
