I remember how he blew teams away in his workouts the year he came out, so much so that he became one of the biggest risers in the weeks leading up to the draft, turning himself from a projected 3rd RD Pick to a 1st RD Pick.
I think Seattle only let him walk because they are experiencing what all successful teams experience, when you win everyone wants a raise, and you can't pay everybody. Heck, they still have Kam Chancellor holding out.
Anyway, their loss was our gain.

Yet 90% of the posters on this forum were not happy with the signing. He's been playing very well since preseason.
The entire OLINE played great! (a.) I think that's because there is a lot of talent up there. (b.) I think that Gailey had a great game plan for game #1 ...keep it simple.
Did anyone stay up late enough to catch Trent Dilfer's synopsis on week one follies? He kept going on about poor special teams, poor OLINE play, silly mistakes, etc. We saw next to none of that. IMO, it had a ton to do with not trying to do too much in the first meaningful game...especially on the OLINE.
