It's hard being green LOL. Jet fans young and old (like me) have suffered through the decades bleeding green and white.
But like true Jets fans, we're the eternal optimists...someday our ship will come in.
We were there when Todd threw 3 passes to AJ
We were there when O'Brien couldn't run a QB sneak for 1 yard
We were there when sure-handed Byers fumbled in Denver
We were there when our kicker O'Brien couldn't make a game-winning FG
We were there 2x when Rex's defense didn't show up for the AFC championship games.
(To this day I do not blame Sanchez, he actually played good in the playoffs, both championship games big-mouth Ryan's vaulted defense forgot to show up)
And these are only the playoff games. Please feel free to add in your burning memories
It is good to get this off your chest LOL, that is why JetFansUnited is good for our souls.

If this is the KC game. What I remember was it was cold and windy at Shea. Namath couldn't complete any passes. KC had that massive defense, all-world linebacking corp. Lenny Dawson was a great QB himself. AND let's not forget Otis Taylor, who I believe caught the game winner.

yes yes yes but Maynard was hurt...came off the bench in the 4t quarter & made a great leaping catch hurt. Mr Mike stinkaroo battle fumbled the punt in the last two minutes …….cost Namath one more chance

First, Doug Brien missed two kicks. TWO, you friggin' bum!!!! On the first one, I was holding hands with my wife and son--all of us dressed in Jet gear from head to toe. For the second kick, I went and sat on my steps alone in the dark. Waited for my wife to come out to relate the bad news. Took us months to fully get over that game.

How about "Toast" Victor Green biting on that Elway pump fake? All downhill after that and another devastating loss. I've written this before on various boards. Guess it bothers me. lol

The Blair Thomas fumble against Chicago on MNF. That was a massive boot to our collective Jet fan nuts.

My daughter, knowing that i am a die-hard Jets fan, purchased a NY Jets highlights video for my birthday. The "highlights" were of the 67' - 69' seasons, showing a young dynamic Joe. Then the video talked about the Jets' rough times... and talked more about the Jets rough times... LOL and on and on until the Butt-fumble LOL. I thanked my daughter, but honestly, this video must have been edited by someone working for the NE Patriots LOL. I will look up the name of the video. Don't buy it. It's depressing.

Chad has a great season in 2002 with some in the press calling him "the next Joe Montana". He picks the playoff game against the Raiders to look like he'd never seen a football before. Had four turnovers and we get embarrassed 30-10. After the game, as he's being interviewed, Bill Romanowski says, "Guess he's no Joe Montana". God I hated Romo.

When Hess died one year too soon. That was the beginning of the end of football for the past 20 years. Francesca was talking about it a few weeks back, how Parcells loved Hess and would have stayed forever had Hess not died

Losing to the dolphins 3 times in the same year ending in the mudbowl

Going 10-1 and ending 10-6 backing into the playoffs and blowing the late lead. Getting killed on Monday night by Miami started the downfall. I told all my col!ege buddies after that game that the Jets wouldn't win again. Paul Maguire said it too. We were correct

When we hired Kotite. At the end of the season before we hired him, I was trying to make myself feel better by thinking of other teams that developers li!e us. I thought of the eagles and how they even wore green like us. Yup. They always blow it like us. Then we go and hire they're loser coach

Great stories guys LOL. Yes, I remember we were 10-1, everyone picked us to be in the SB. Then Paul McQuire (aka Nostradamus) predicts the Jets would not win another game. Klecko, Gastineau, Toon get injured, O'Brien loses his mojo. All bad... If I recall correctly, O'Brien loses so much confidence in himself that Walton is forced to play Ryan in the playoffs. Please correct me if I'm mixing up years of futility.

After 98', being so close, it looked like we would be a powerhouse in 99'. I'm watching the Jets game against the Pats. I step outside for a few minutes to do something. My 12-year-old son comes out and asks "Daddy, what is a torn Achilles tendon?".

I remember they pronounced the game over at 20-10. I remember Gastineau cheering in the endzone. and then Cleveland started moving the ball and I looked at my brother and sad, "this game isn't over, this is the Jets". And the rest is Jets history

I have no doubt we would have won the superbowl if Vinny didn't get hurt. That was probably the worst for me. We had Parcells and we would have won. Had he switched from Mirer to Lucas earlier, we still would have won the superbowl
