He will probably be taken with the 4 or 5 by the Eagles with the 6 it is being reported they will.acquire from the jets before the draft for Foles, the 20, this years and next years 2.I would be shocked if Mariota is there at 6...
I say Mariota.
Great read by turn on the Jets:

I'm definitely not sold on Mariota. Think the Jets D needs a pass rusher. If the coaches feel Mariota is the clear choice and not just a reaction to our lack of a QB since Namath then I'm ok with it.
I honestly think the pass rusher debate is vastly overblown. We have a great secondary, alonside with a great d_line. We can get to the QB. What we haven't had is a franchise QB.
If the front office feels Mariota is that guy, WE MUST TRADE UP to get him.
This whole thing about building for the future has died in my book. We've been builiding since 1970 right after our only Superbowl.
Though, if the franchise does not believe he isnt capable of being elite, then i'am all for your suggestion and then pick up say Bryce Petty in the second.
The thing is, if we take Mariota, we are building for the future because I don't see too many people saying Mariota will be ready to step in right away and be a starting QB. I'm fully on board with taking Mariota if they think he's the real deal long term, but the Jets need an edge rusher. Someone like Fowler or Beasley. Pace and Babin are both around 35 years old. And who knows what Bowles' plan is for Coples (OLB v DE). We need pressure coming off the edge. I cannot bear to watch Brady stand around the pocket for 7-10 seconds, patting the football and waiting for someone to get open. The secondary can only hold the fort for so long.
Still hoping to take some more virtual action on this bet
I'm in the minority around here but I like both Ray and Gregory. Them or Beasley would make me happy
I like Cooper and White at WR, too and would be okay with Mariotta
