Not bad for a 2X pro bowler who’s 29. The salary is a little large, but definitely an upgrade. Good trade, Macc.

I'm more comfortable with Mac trading picks than drafting with them.
Don’t think LT is gonna change this year. No better alternatives to Beachum right now.
Center is a different story. That will be addressed via FA or the draft.
If and its a big IF he is healthy then its a decent trade because there is no guarantee the Jets would have been able to get Saffold.
Wait, let me get this straight, the Jets swapped their 5th RD Pick for the Raiders 6th RD Pick and in return they received a 6' 5"/330, two time Pro Bowl OG as recently as 2016 and 2017, first team ALL PRO in 2016, and just turning 30 in June?

Sorry I just couldn't give him complete credit for this trade. He needs to hit on every move this off season to make up for the last 4 years.

If he returns to form, it's a good move. I'm concerned about the injuries - but he seems to be taking care of himself and working hard to get healthy. He's a good player when healthy. I think this signing all depends on the physical and his health. He's definitely an upgrade. We should replace most of the O-Line to be honest, but i would live with a new Center and Left Guard.

A side note, I'm getting a kick out of listening to the sportscasters try to pronounce his name. I hope they don't have to do it again this year, because the only time you hear an offensive lineman's name is when he commits a penalty.

Well, the cheatahs grabbed a giant lineman from the West coast last season and turned him into a great left tackle who kept our hero untouched most of the season. Mac is trying to copy that. I like it!
Players get injured all the time. That doesn’t mean they’re injury prone. Osemele missed 5 games last season. Prior to that, were there many injuries? I know he was the highest ranked Guard in FA a few years back when the Raiders gave him a fortune.

You can criticize Macc all you want about drafting. But this guy swings great trades. Trader Mike strikes again. Interior o-line a big concern with limited opportunities in FA, and Macc gets Osemele for a late round swap.
