The entire coaching staff of the New York Jets is worthy of standing applause from us, the fans. Instead of a 4-13 club with the spirit of a whipped puppy, we're looking at a can-do team.
When I look at some of the pre-season gloom-sayers, I'm reminded of a quote from Winston Churchill.
“When I warned them that Britain would fight on alone whatever they did, their generals told their Prime Minister and his divided Cabinet, ‘In three weeks England will have her neck wrung like a chicken.’

I was DEFINITELY ONE OF THE NAY-SAYERS and for that I do apologize! After Zach went down and he was officially out for 4-6 weeks, I thought our season was over even before it started. I even started a thread on it! I saw no way we were coming out of that with a 4-2 record the first 6 games.
Even with Zach back I thought he would struggle a few games and the team would suffer as a results of it. I wasn’t quite sure they could carry him to victories. We’ll the team is carrying him these past 2 games but he’s doing his part not to mess it up.
That Steelers game they won primarily because of him. He was a complete monster in the second half, especially the 4th quarter. Before Zach went down I saw 7-9 wins. After he down, I didn’t know if we could win more than 5. Now looking at them, if they keep this up it’s playoffs all the way!

A big factor in pro football's the attitude of the team. It's one of the few things that doesn't lend itself readily to statistical enumeration, but any student of the game can sense when it's awry. Right now, the Jets are doing fine. They take the field with the expectation that they'll give a darned good account of themselves.
Attitude, though, along with an 'X' axis range from 'We're doormats' to 'We're indomitable!', also has a 'Y' axis. For lack of a better word, it's fragility, and ranges from tissue paper to granite. We'll see where to place the Jets on that graph after they face meat grinders such as the Buffalo Bills in week 9. They'll have a bye week to think about it.
