A loss to SF would be the ultimate nail in the coffin to this season. My kids got a basketball tournament that day, so I'll probably stay away from this crap festival. I cannot stomach losing to Colin Kaepernick.

I am actually worried that the Jets may win this? Hopefully, because Bryce Petty will be starting and the players will quit on Todd Bowles, that will be enough for the Jets to lose. Winning meaningless games at this late juncture is pure stupidity.

I'm over Bowles for one reason. His defense for two years with good talent has been under performing. Last year our offense carried this team. I've had it with rookie head coaches. We need a coach who learned from his mistakes and can come here hitting the ground running.

Ive heard that saying about firing a head coach every year means you are the Browns. I disagree with it. You know a good head coach when you see him. Bowles hasn't impressed so let's cut the chord. I'm als no worries about not attracting other top candidates. I'm sure there are many people who want this job. There's talent on the defense.

Funny you mention Greg and someone else mentioned the Browns. Greg grew up in Cleveland and rooted for the Indians (I had a nice discussion with him about this), so he's used to losing.

Yes, I can read between the lines. I said Bowles should be fired because he has been a huge disappointment. Sometimes that happens. I never said a team should give everyone more than a year. But it would be nice to see the Jets give some people more than 3 years, like Mangini. He got screwed.

And most Jets fans loved Tannenbaum before they hated him. Typical of this fanbase, who want to fire everyone the second something goes wrong.

I'm with you 100% in your thinking but still, a bit torn here for two reasons. First, having a top 3-4 pick at 3-13 isn't a bad deal at all. Especially with the way our off season has gone the past two years (even going back to the Rex and Idzik years). Also, the way the season has gone this year. Second, I love the way Petty throws the ball, and he has a gun, but I'm still not sure he's the answer. He's going to have to show me a ton before I start to think that way. I've said it before; I'm not quite sure we have our future franchise QB on this team. So now if I truly felt Petty or Hack were the answer, I'd be with you 100% but being that I'm not quite sure, losing the rest of our games might not be so bad. I mean Petty is going to play anyway, so as long as he shows some true progress, it might be the best of both worlds. The Jets have a lot to make up for the past 4-5 years of this mess. This draft and off-season won't solve all our problems, but a top 3-4 pick might truly be a GREAT start for us.

I was referring to his seeming ignorance in praising Castro, while at the same time denouncing the oppression of minorities in the US. Maybe hypocritical would be have been a better choice of words, but I believe his praise of Castro is because he is ignorant of Castro's oppressive and murderous reign in Cuba. Sorry for being a bit thin skinned. Perhaps I read too much into your question, but I get tired of folks insinuating racism, bigotry or whatever the term du jour, for criticizing anyone of color, religious or political persuasion. I criticized Kaepernick because I see him as an ignorant fool who doesn't have a great grasp of some basic historical facts. And by the way, that has nothing to do with politics.
