O'Brien over Marino is the one that is usually quoted. But Andy Reid had Mahomes sit for a year, then play in an offense with a good offensive line and multiple weapons. If Mahomes came to the Jets, he would be Zach.

Yeah, I lived through the Marino-Obie miss, too. At least Obie played reasonably well for a few years, even with uber-dunce Joe Walton designing plays. Adams was a bust and gone in a few years to fail again in Seattle.

And I don't believe Mahomes would ever be Zach Wilson. Unlike Mahomes and Obie, Wilson doesn't have a fraction of the skills necessary to succeed in the NFL. That will go down as one of the worst bust picks in NFL history.

Replace him with McDonald and draft a project in the 5th round to groom. We have too many D lineman and not enough O lineman!

There haven’t been a draft in recent history this deep in offensive linemen and to some extent at receiver in recent history. Amazing how the Jets just happened to need those positions and previously drafted players as replacements for defensive players we might lose .

I stand corrected. I never thought much of Mahommes coming out. I was with Kiper on my evaluation of Mahommes.

Right now, unless he gets catastrophically injured or loses the desire to play, Mahomes is on target for eventually being regarded as the GOAT.

Douglas drafts for ceiling, ignoring most ready for the league. Unfortunately, the Jets have not been successful developing those players so they don't often reach that ceiling.

Didn’t include Wirfs because he was never on the Jets like Moses and Fant. We seem to fall in love with has been older players and we ignore options we have because of this loyalty to some players. We should have resigned Moses and committed him to RT, but we didn’t because we had Brown at LT and couldn’t move off Becton. They didn’t want Becton and Brown to compete because Becton would have lost…….
