Good pick up. Gives some competition for the position.
Raiders 3rd round pick in 2015. He was beat out last year by Jared Cook. Had over 300 per season and 3 TD’s each year in 2015 and 2016.
Maybe Bates can utilize him better in our offense. Considering the dearth of talent at TE on this roster, why not?

Even though he didn't impress last year and was also injured, at the price we will likely get him for, it's a good signing. He is a big target and played well in 15 and 16 so if he is healthy he might just get back to his original form which would be a real plus for the offense.
He was looked at as the Raiders future TE ... until they signed Jared Cook !! Good waiver claim ....

Cheap deal, $1.9640 if I remember. Right in that range and no cap hit if he doesn't make the roster.
Better production than ASJ when healthy at well below 1/2 the cost.
