Disappointed Mauldin did not pan out, but not surprised he was cut.
Sounds like Cannon is in. He showed enough explosiveness. And hopefully he can be coached how to catch punts and kicks.

My guess is waiver wire or trade, with Mauldin also gone.
I'm wondering about the possibility of trading for Shane Ray , who like Fowler , is in the final year of his contract. I thought they might keep Luvu as a designated pass rusher , but with him being cut , I'm inclined to think hat Mack might be working on a better option at pass rusher , be it trade or waiver pick up.

I have heard Ray as another possibility. About the same age, in his last year. Both have topped off at 8 sacks in a season.
I have focused on Fowler more because he has been miscast in Jax. He's in the wrong scheme, and with the Jets, he would be schemed right, which could lead to increased production.
I expect one or two WR's to be amongst the final cuts we announce ... no way we're keeping all eight of these guys.

Agreed. Mac is showing he's willing to cut guys he drafted in mid and later rounds. Hansen has not shown enough to stay. Peake, to me, is on the fence.
I think it can be coached some. But he has to show progress in ball control to keep his spot.
I'm glad they held-on to Cannon. The kid has the kind of speed to hit HR's in the return game and out of the backfield too. It would have been a mistake to let go of that kind of potential despite his obvious struggles as a returner. Small school guy who never returned punts requires some patience.
I believe we are waiting on 7 or 8 more cuts or roster moves to get down to the limit by 4 pm today.
I don't think its that many. I think its only about five more when you take suspensions into account?
Brian Basset just tweeted that indeed it was five more, NOW FOUR following the announcement of Hansen.
