not as bad a Manning's call to Woody........I hear Billy Boy in New England paid rich little to make that call.

that call definitely blew the game, but the Offense going 3 and out and chewing up all of 10 freakn seconds contributed just as much!

Look to be 0-12 it takes a real team effort...this is not easy you know.

From what I have read, looks like Williams was sacrificed. Sure....it was a horrible call.... but Gase has had horrible play calls all season...... I think they need to cover the tank issue.... and this was an easy way to do that. The idiot twins don’t want a Detroit repeat. Fire the HC and the team mangages to win a game...... If you’re going to bring in Lawrence, you simply cant have Gase there in any capacity...... The entire staff will be gone at seasons end ... but that debacle yesterday looked a bit pre orchestrated to me.... and had to be covered up with Williams getting canned

The announcers and local sportscaster were vocal about why the Jets were blitzing on the last play and not playing more defensive backs deep.
He was bad on the prior incomplete pass (he should have seen the receiver get behind the defense) so playing the same defense on the last play was inexcusable and unforgiveable.

Also, BTW, on the NFL cable station, the announcers were laughing about how Darnold's last pass didn't ever reach the end zone. I thought the same thing when I saw it.

Hmm, fire DC for the loss? So the other 11 losses is on him too? Was it DC fault that Jets Offense couldnt get a first down to end the game for a win? Please. Jets dont have anyone to cover WRs, TEs even double coverage I watched Raiders guys leave a double team in the dust by 5yds! I hate prevent defense to lose. While Gase didnt nix the blitz at the time, the DC shouldnt have sent the Safety. Im happy over it and want TREVOR L. Just tired of Jets awful ability drafting a QB and only way is to lose 0-16 to find the best QB. 1 and 15 still does not make me feel better and wont change the direction of this team. Arent fellow Jets fans tired of being laughed at? I am sick of it! So 0-16 is changing for best.

My guess is that after the play call on the previous play, Gase asked GW what the hell are you doing, and his response was fuck you. Fired for insubordination. Goes to show how dysfunctional the organizational structure is with the Jets. Not only can't the GM pick his HC, the HC can't choose his defensive coordinator. Hopefully all of this changes nothing and Gase is kicked to the curb at season's 0-16 end.

As far as I am concerned that bad play call actually getting run was as much Gase's fault as Williams'. He's the head coach. He heard the call go in and let it stand. He should have either changed the call or at least called a timeout to discuss it with Williams. If it was justification to fire Williams then he should also resign to be fair.

No. I don’t think the knucklehead brothers give a shit at this point. It’s just one less person they have to fire later. There is no way Gase can stay. The fan base will revolt. Maybe Gase may think that, but Woody and JD will double cross him in the end
