Jets front-runner to trade for disgruntled receiver

Carolina Panthers have given Terace Marshall Jr. Permission to seek a trade and the Jets are one of the teams interested in trading for the young talent. Marshall Jr. Would immediately enter as the other boundary receiver opposite Garrett Wilson. This would allow Lazard be more of that slot receiver paired up with tight end Tyler Conklin.

I think they don't feel they have anything with Brownlee, Charles and Gipson on offense outside Wilson and Lazard. Makes sense been lobbying for JD to go after Marshall Jr. Being that he has been pushed down the depth chart and fills a void for us not to mention both GW and Marshall Jr. can grow as a tandem simply that they are the same age 23.

Jets fans knew before the season that we were thin on O-line and this was the time to address it. Unfortunately those teams with adequate coverage are not looking to give it up, so we are reduced to free agents nobody else wants or guys who recently retired. I have seen it suggested that Billy Turnstile has played other O-line positions in the past and Poe will be brought up from the PS. We will soon have Brown to spell Becton and Kelly on the PS as another tackle.

these are the three Carolina Panthers players I believe would be ideal for us:

Terace Marshall Jr. receiver
Cade Mays IOL
Tommy Tremble TE

swing a deal sending Carl Lawson and Dalvin Cook to the Panthers for those three players we win, throw in Duane Brown as well.

Cade Mays formerly of the Tennessee Vols and Georgia Bulldogs has played every position on the OL, yes all five. He is a capable starter as a guard while also ability to spend time playing center which we need on the OL. Becton has proven he is a capable left tackle, while AVT is lost for the season Max Mitchell can play well. We do not know what we have with rookie Carter Warren. We hoped we drafted our future franchise center but it seems he needs time to develop into that guy, but he is an outstanding guard.

Honestly our passing game isn't going to increase through the roof, so adding weapons there kinda goes hand and hand with having an O-line that can protect and allow us to throw. We can have the best WR's out there, but if we can't get the ball to them it's pretty worthless.

Offense needs to be focused on getting that 30+ runs per game. I would love to have a true #2/#1a, but I'm not seeing us being able to capitalize on that kind of talent at the moment (moving Lazard to #3/Slot would be ideal though)

Conklin has emerged as one but the jury still out on Ruckert. Moving Lazard in 3 receiver sets as the slot guy works while he'll remain the No. 2 receiver on the roster.

Our OL are good impact blockers where we need to establish the run to give our passing game time to develop their routes. With Marshall Jr. he can like GW get open with a couple double moves, giving the offense a better ability to push back coverages to allow Conklin and Lazard to work in the seam and against zone coverages.

End of the day, I will admit Laken has been better than last year and even McGovern has played well but our future is not with those two.

Becton should be inline to get a new moderate contract, something like 2 years $18 M. Yea yea I know seems like a lot but the franchise tag for a tackle is north of $19.99 M this upcoming year to pay him that amount for 2 years is a steal.

Next year will be AVT's 4th year and he is definitely getting the 5th year option gives us 2 more years to see if both are our future tackles.

Tippmann at worst is our starting guard for the next two seasons, hopefully he develops into that center we need.

Carter Warren is a pure pass blocking tackle he could move inside to guard and thrive especially on the left side.

End of the day with Max Mitchell he is a tackle, can not see him as a guard. It comes down does Tippmann move to center then next year does AVT move back inside to guard opens the door for Max at tackle. It is not sexy but they need time to gel as a unit.

As a possesion receiver??? He's on his way to another 1000 yard season and after 6 games almost has Marshall's career high for a season LOL.

He's no spring chicken, but for a season or two, he is showing he can still get it done.

20 games 106 career receptions for 1,594 yards and 23 TDs
Tied for No. 4 in school history in career TD receptions (23)
a boundary receiver that has similar skill set to Garrett Wilson and is same age as well.

They apparently put a call in for Adams and Evans. Teams have to want to make a trade. I don't blame JD for trying and being told No.
