Hold on guys..... no one said Lawrence was going to be the answer. Cant tell you how many high pick QB flops I have seen in my life. Jeff George, Leaf, Akili Smith, Vince Young, Mariota, Winston, Sanchez, that idiot the Raiders drafted just to name a few. I’m much more concerned about getting a good head coach and staff in here rather the Lawrence
I beg to differ, everyone pretty much is saying that Lawrence is the answer! Yes he’ll need a true CS and better weapons but every QB needs that. Even Aaron Rodgers needs competent weapons and he can make them better. If Darnold was the guy he’d at least look like a competent QB with this team and make them a little better but he’s not doing that. They’re saying Lawrence is the best prospect since Luck, P. Manning and Elway. That is the definition of the answer.
Look at what all three of those players did for there franchises when they got there. They won and won because of those QBs for the most part. Yes Luck didn’t win a SB for the Colts but he only played about seven years also. In those seven years he was the all out truth for them. One of the best QBs in the league and definitely on his way to being a first ballot HOFer. He still might be! The Colts were also true contenders with Luck. P. Manning and Elway I don’t even need to speak on what they did.
This here is three examples of the definition of the answer and Lawrence is compared to these QBs. None of those other QBs you mentioned in you post were compared to QBs like Luck, Elway and P. Manning but Lawrence is and we had our chance to get him and fucked it up. Now what do we do? I truly don’t even know the answer to that question. Stick with Darnold and build around him even though he hasn’t shown much at all to do so?
If Darnold was the real deal he would have done a lot more to show he could be the guy. Whether win or lose he truly has shown that yet. Plus he can’t stay healthy and that’s the added salt to the wound. Every freaking year this dude is injured for whatever reason and it’s SO FRUSTRATING! Do they draft Justin Fields now, trade Darnold and build around Fields? Fields is most likely a much better QB than Darnold and that’s great but he ain’t Lawrence.
Saddest part about all of this is because of this win and maybe not even not because of this win, Adam Gase might be back next year anyway. That is the most devastating part of this all. This changes everything about the future of this franchise also. Free agents will most likely not truly want to come to this team now if Gase stays and Darnold is still our QB. Whatever players JD drafts won’t truly develop the way they can because this asshole Gase will still be here.
Look at who Gase is still playing, the 37-year old Gore who’s truly on his last leg and we obviously have three young and competent RBs that should be on the field. It’s like he is refusing to build the young players and he wants to deliberately fuck this team over. He did the same thing in Miami but they were smart enough to get rid of this asshole and look where they are right now. On the verge of a playoff berth and a real future build around a true HC and Tua.
Look at what Tannehill, Fitzgerald and Landry are doing since they got away from this dumb bastard. Look at Jamal Adams and what he’s doing in Seattle. Williamson and what he’s doing in Pittsburgh. Bell and what he’s doing in KC. We’ll Bell isn’t a real good example because he truly ain’t doing shit there but you get my point. Now where probably stuck with Gase, Darnold and worst part about it is no Lawrence who definitely appears to be the future and the answer!
