Idzik is gone you really need to let it go already
I know last year we had about $54 mill in cap and needed to sign a top corner I felt, and the cap was $123 mill, so that was a ton of room...and we had to settle. Im not holding my breath we'll "definitely" get a top CB. I think Cro is a lock. I think we want Maxwell and/or Jackson, I think we get Cro. I do think Maxwell will want to help his guy rebuild that team and do it with Matt Ryan. Dont you think that sounds like a healthy jump for maxwell? And dont you think Quinn will help his guy get paid. I just think that's a natural fit.
I think we sign Cro, maybe quickly they get something done in the negotiation window. But I think Mac is going to be all over the place and not just focused on CB. I think he tries to get something in place with Cro, Spiller, and one of the olinemen quickly (that guy Cy was talking about in another thread). I think we're going to pull some names in quickly, but I'm not holding my breath we get one of the big CBs, I think we sign Cro and draft one. The draft seems likely based on our scouts combine focus from all reports.
Cro may not be an elite CB, and I hope he doesn't wear down quickly. I think he'll either be solid, or someone we see wear down quickly with hip and lower body concerns. I dont think he plays the position technically sound enough so that when he starts losing athleticism he'll be as value added at the position. Hopefully Cro is serviceable while we groom a nice prospect (and hopefully McDougle bounces back and puts it together at his own pace with the new coaches).
