The Jets are among four teams that have offered free agent cornerback K’Waun Williams a contract, according to a report from NJ Advance Media on Tuesday.
Williams has already met with Detroit and the Jets, and is expected to make his decision late this week.
Undrafted out of Pittsburgh three years ago, Williams has played exclusively with Cleveland.
In 26 games, he had 77 tackles, defensed 10 passes, forced three fumbles, and recovered two more in primarily a slot corner position for the Browns, though didn’t play last season with an ankle injury.
The Jets are in the market for a corner with Darrelle Revis almost certainly bound for either outright departure or a somewhat less likely move to safety after a poor outing in 2016.
