I think several of the signings are being used to fill holes so they go into the draft without having to reach for positions

When you have bad players on the rest of the line, a guy like Parham gets exposed. When you have studs next to him, he is more than enough to be a solid starter. As much as I'd love to have studs at every position on the OL, you have to allocate resources accordingly. In this case, this is a smart signing to fill a hole on the OL. Parham is more durable than AVT and slightly better (and smarter when it comes to penalties) than Simpson. For the value, it was worth it.
This also means they don't necessarily have to reach at OG in the first or second rounds.

The Vets they brought in at key positions are there to show the younger talented guys they draft the "right way" to play. At least that's how it looks to me. I like the idea if that's what they're doing. Makes Sense. Or I could be just blowing smoke. Bored Speculation. Lol.

He is still one of the Best linebackers in the league, top 10 overall and top 3 vs the run. Had his best year last season. A 3 down player, true professional and leader. He will captain the D, wear the green dot, and should be a tremendous asset in the locker room and on the field. Team desperately needs some veteran leadership.
