We did it! In a game overflowing with excitement, the New York Jets, 2 and 8, beat the Atlanta Falcons, a 4 and 7 team. In the wheelhouse was Mr. Tyrod Taylor, who steered us past the reefs to victory. We matched the Falcons stride for stride right up until the final moments when a 56 yard field goal carried the day for us. Watching in my living room, I clapped until my hands stung.
The Jets now have a quarterback, Mr. Tyrod Taylor. He can pass, hand off, run, bootleg and, where necessary,
scramble very well, thank you. He's careful and he's durable. At the same time, we need a quarterback. Mr Taylor's 36 years old. There's no way we can see him playing the schedule for the next 8-10 years. His skills, though, should make him a fine mentor for the right probie.
Who's that? Let the guessing games begin!
The Jets have moved up a step. We now have a better record than the Titans, Raiders, Giants and Saints. We're tied with the Browns and Cardinals. Thank you, Mr. Taylor & Co! This coming Sunday we'll play host to the Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium. At 5 and 7 they're better than the Falcons were, but by only one game. We're at home with our home town crowd bundled up and filling the chilly stands. We should all, team and fans, have a warm glow going from last week's win. I'm ready to clap my fool hands off!
