5th Year Team Option
Jet Fanatics
We really have two games to cover here. Let's start with Jets v. Browns. What a difference that win made. The New York Jets game with the Cleveland Browns -- a full touchdown 27-20 score -- took us out of the doormat category. In fact, there were 3 teams with worse records and another two teams at 2 and 7. It felt darned good. But then came Thursday night and the 8 and 2 Patriots. There was no shame in losing to that team. Our defense even denied them a touchdown twice in the 4th quarter. We're still tied with 2 other teams with the Tennessee Titans under us. (The Jets were once named the Titans. It's a bad luck name.) Next are the 4 and 5 Ravens. Another Jets win?

Meanwhile, the Jets management has found a draft pick work-around. Instead of getting beaten week after week in hopes of a first round choice, they've made trades for picks. True, we traded away Mr. Ahmed Gardner, a fine defensive back, and others. But we have promising back-ups. The Jets now have a pick wallet bulging with 5, count 'em, 5 first round picks in 2026 & 7. Good choices will ease the pain of missing the play-offs. The Jets college scouts will be busy.

What's emerging is a real plan for our team over the next couple of years. If all goes well, there may be a new franchise QB and the necessary picks and trades available to mold the team around his talents. If Mr. Justin Fields is traded, I'll wish him well. He can certainly run with the ball. The venerable oft-traded Tyrod Taylor will probably remain as a back-up/mentor. Don't be surprised to see Mr. Brady Cook play in a Jets game as management decides whether to keep or trade him.
