So do we really think J Marshall is that much better than R Anderson?

I understand Marshall for ST, but once he fumbled that ball I thought Anderson would get a chance. (Nothing against Marshall, I just didn't think he'd earned such a long rope)

Why have Anderson on the 53 if we're not going to give him playing time? I really think the kid could be special . . .

I was wondering too, but I really think it just comes down to the fact that the two of them play a different position. Jalin Marshall played more when Enunwa came out, while Anderson came in when Marshall got hurt.

Thanks -- I didn't even see Anderson come in.

Patience might be the operative word here. They clearly like Anderson, but I think they realize that Marshall is probably a little more polished as receiver and more physically ready for the pro game. Just my opinion, but the amount that Marshall is being used and what the vets are saying about him is pretty telling. I think in time Anderson will see more time and balls thrown his way.

Yep, Jalin appears to be backing up Enunwa in the Slot or he's used as a second Slot WR in 4 Wide sets, whereas Anderson and Peake are backing Brandon and Decker as outside (X and Z) receivers.

Just based on that alone, Jalin is going to see more action unless an X or Z gets hurt.

Also, because all three are rookies and you don't want to put too much on their plates, its doubtful Jalin is learning the X/Z routes or that Anderson and Peake are learning the slot routes. In time they will, but probably not yet.

For example, right now Brandon, Decker and Enunwa are all interchangeable. Enunwa is mostly in the slot, but sometimes Decker lines up in the slot and Enunwa outside, or sometimes Decker and Marshall switch the X and Z spots. At some point the rookies will learn to play multiple WR positions too, but probably not yet.

FB Julian Howsare has been cut.

Roster currently stands at 52, I'll make the edit when his replacement is announced.

Watching video clips (albeit college cut-ups) of Bowman, you can see why he the CS likes the kid. He is a tough, relentless blocker, lines up all over the field and can catch the ball downfield. Kind of like a less athletic Enunwa. Maybe the idea is to transition Enunwa to one of the WR spots (particularly in light of Marshall's injury) and eventually have Bowman as an H-Back/TE type.
