They DID play well.
they didn't really play all that well........mistakes throughout the game and in the end Brady made them pay. Too many blown coverages and missed assignments - but you expect that with the current level of talent on the field. they got little to no pressure and that was the death sentence. They played well for the worst ranked defense, ok I'll give them that - but this wasn't a tape they want sent to Canton.
Still - all in all - this was a another learning opportunity and maybe mist important was seeing the QB look like a QB of the future - kid was calm and decisive.....didn't hold the ball and connected with 2nd/3rd level talent receivers. You can argue the game could've been done on the 2-3 drives before the last one when the OL couldn't do anything and Jets went 3 and out. Even 1 first down could've been difference. Lots to clean up but lots to build upon.
Maybe the best residual feeling I'm left with afterwards is I now feel we can compete with our QB and will be a problem for opponents in 2022.
