1961, Herb Adderley was drafted by the New York Titans in the 2nd round. He had a pretty good run with Green Bay and Dallas.

1963, John Mackey was drafted in the 5th round. Second to only Tony Gonzalez, Mackey is considered by some to be the best TE.

2 of the 4 Hall of Famers drafted by the franchise over the years? (Namath and Riggins are the others). Miss anybody?

Some other interesting ones from 61:
Bernie Casey, SE - Good NFL player but a big help to the Nerds when Jocks trashed their frat house
Joe Scibelli, G : Rams lineman for 15 years, one pro bowl
Andy Griffth, HB - Didn't make it in football but did make the Hall of Fame for country sheriffs
Fred Cox, K - Vikings kicker for 15 years, one pro bowl
Tom Matte, HB - and a better QB than some that we have had here in recent years

Jets also drafted:
Bill Wyman in the mid 70's but he didn't make the team. Guess they didn't need a new bassist
Willie Beamon didn't play here but later QB'd the Miami Sharks
