How bout a swap of recent first round picks who both are at their lowest point from a value POV

Milliner for Manziel

If Manziel ever gets his head out of his ass and gets serious about football, the kid has talent.

Manziel? Asking for Manziel is like asking for herpes...why? You can trade nothing and get Tebow if you want a disaster at QB.

I wouldn't want the Jets to trade him. He showed his true abilities in his first year in that last month of play. He started out the season very strong but got injured after one game I believe. I believe it would be very stupid for the Jets to trade him. He can be that replacement for Cro in 2-3 years and learn from Revis and Cro on how to be that shut-down CB. He and Skrime will be fighting it out for the slot CB position and that will be great. Ain't nothing like having depth and we have that now in which we had nothing just last year. We are so strong at the position that they can let him sit for 8 games or a year if need be and when he is 100%, lets see what he has.

You are a true believer. In Milliner and Geno. Keep the optimism.

I wouldn't want Manziel anywhere near this team.
He would be Tim Tebow x2 as far as the media circus is concerned.
And his mental state is still in question; not to mention I still believe he is too small to withstand the NFL pounding as a scrambling QB.

Im optimistic for them also.
LOL, actually I'm am in Milliner but not in Geno. I'm just very hopeful and optimistic Geno will improve this year with a much better team, coaching and management that is like ten times better then what we had before. It appears were stuck with Geno anyway, so why be optimistic and be in the kids corner. If I can do it for that God awful Sanchez for three and a half to four years, then I can do it for Geno for three years. If Geno doesn't improve then so be it but I do believe Milliner will be very good and should not be traded.

Note: This was actually in response to Jet Setter.

Or maybe you get a special ointment that has Amy Fisher as the spokesman...

Would have to pass on Manziel entirely. I am not a fan of Bradford either. I always thought he was VERY overrated as a prospect as an NFL QB. I think Fitzpatrick would put up comparable numbers to Bradford in the Jet offense.
The last thing we need to do is trade for a QB that can't stay on the field and move down 14 spots in the draft to do it.

Milliner, I have been very critical of his play. But, as a 4th CB it is worth seeing whether he develops. If the Jets wanted to hypothetically package Milliner and their 2nd round pick to move back into the late first round, fine. I'm all for it.

What if a team offered you a pick in the top 40 right now? You'd say no thank you?

Well, as has been noted, his value is lower due to injury. So I think the better question is "would you trade Milliner for his current market value"?

And my answer is "HELL NO".

If Milliner increases his value by staying healthy and playing well then he would be worth more to the Jets. He is still our most experienced and talented backup outside corner...and he'll be learning and pushed by Revis and Cro. I don't believe the Jets are shopping him, too young, too talentedn and inexpensive at a premium position.

If we could get a 2nd round pick I would do it now and we could draft a true, healthy CB now.

If the team isn't sold on Miliner's talent, go ahead and shop him.

If they aren't sold on his health, I'd hold off.

Too many players have had early injuries, only to go on to productive careers.

And (knock on wood) our current CBs have also had to deal with injuries in the past, while no longer being youngsters who can bounce back as quickly -- depth is VITAL to this team and I'm not ready to give it up so easily . . .

Great point, OCCH.

Depth is important when you've got two starting CB's that will be 30 and 31 next year. Revis and Cromartie are fantastic players, but I'd feel better leaving Skrine in the slot if, God forbid, someone got hurt. If Milliner is 100% healthy, I think he's the next man up. And that's not a bad option. I certainly don't want to see the team give up so early on such a talented player. Especially for a mid round pick. That could potentially blow up in our faces if NE or Miami got him, and he turned into a really good player. Mehta wouldn't be able to restrain himself from telling everyone how stupid Macc was for making that move.

And around here? I can only imagine what would be written. :scarface-smiley-emo

Trade a guy in rehab for another guy constantly rehabbing....

Swap useless for useless.

I'd rather have Milliner because I never saw anything in Manziel at all. That street game he plays does not work in the NFL at all...
