I don't think eit'll matter, but for fun, let's say we are in payoff contention late, Geno has an ankle tweak and we need a 45 yarder to win a win and you're in game, 2 disastrous oversights would come into vivid focus.
We can cross that imaginary bridge when we get to it.

I asked my friend Gemini a few questions about the o line. Here’s the answers:

The projected starting offensive line for the New York Jets:

PositionStarterKey Backup
Left Tackle (LT)Olumuyiwa "Olu" FashanuMax Mitchell
Left Guard (LG)Dylan ParhamAnez Cooper
Center (C)Josh MyersJordan Meredith
Right Guard (RG)Joe TippmannKohl Levao
Right Tackle (RT)Armand MembouChukwuma Okorafor

The unit features a strong blend of high-draft-pick talent on the edges with Olu Fashanu anchoring the left side and recent draft pick Armand Membou holding down right tackle. In the interior, free-agent signees Dylan Parham and veteran center Josh Myers slide in alongside Joe Tippmann (who transitions over to right guard) to lock down the middle.

How good are Parham and Myers

Dylan Parham and Josh Myers represent two very different levels of performance on the interior line. Parham is a reliable, steady starter who fits well in pass protection, whereas Myers is a replacement-level player who has consistently struggled to lock down the center position.

Dylan Parham (Left Guard)

  • The Good: Strong pass protection. Parham was a reliable four-year starter with the Raiders before joining the Jets. He graded out near the top half of starting left guards, showing solid footwork and agility.
    Sports Illustrated

  • The Weakness: Run blocking can be inconsistent. He excels in pass sets—posting a strong pass-rush win rate grade—but he isn't a power-oriented guard who consistently moves defensive tackles off the line of scrimmage in the run game.
  • Verdict: Above-average starter. He brings durability and a strong pass-blocking base, making him a dependable upgrade on the left side.

Josh Myers (Center)

  • The Good: Durability and experience. Myers has logged heavy snap counts since his draft profile in Green Bay, bringing experience with pre-snap line calls.
  • The Weakness: Pass protection consistency and leverage. Myers has struggled significantly with speed-to-power interior rushers, frequently landing near the bottom of qualified starter rankings in PFF pass-blocking grades.
  • Verdict: Below-average starter. While serviceable as a bridge option who knows how to make pre-snap reads, he remains the soft spot of the starting unit and a candidate for backup pressure or extra help in protection.
Cooper is on IR and Levao is on the PS. MEANWHILE Marquis Hayes, another member of the pre-season 'backup O line', has been released and Brant Banks has been signed to the PS in his place. Better the devil you don't know than the devil you do. And Mykal Walker LB has been released with an injury settlement, which explains the earlier Trevin Wallace move.

BM, After the Giant slaughtering, I agree with you. my 98 and 2015 vibes went away watching our "elite" oL get man handled, and the beef we inked & drafted to bolster the run D seemed like wimps to the GMen OL. It sucks, but I see another disaster unfolding. and another regime change.

not really. It's the blind squirrel theory in practice.
Not sure what you found so disappointing .
No O line starter saw a single snap and only a couple PS players saw the field. The rest are out of the league. Second string produced a 10 run TD drive against several Giant starters and 2nd string, before coming out. Only 2 defensive starters saw the field, Sweat and Ossai vs mostly starters and their possessions resulted in an interception and fumble. Personally, I was happy with the performance of players who are on the roster. Even players like Winston and Beckham should absolutely dominate the guys asking Paper or plastic and do you want fries with that today.

when I posted that, I remembered the GMen seemingly walking all over our D. I didn't see live action until after first quarter ended. TBH, I shouldn't have made the post based on what I saw.

I only recently watched the game, was incapacitated all preseason so I had a fresh recollection. Don't give up hope.
Remember, when all hope is lost, all we have is hope.
Or pretzels in Moes case.... :smileawake:

Glad you gave me some perspective. i really enjoyed the 98 and 15 vibes of having something fun to watch this season! Best of all, I think we're 100% at 1pm If we can win a few games, the 4pm games are always more enjoyable.

I think we get a good gauge at where we are next week . Home opener all the excitement of a win .
Packers on road 2weeks in a row coming off a terrible loss .

Jets + 5 1/2
Win that game and I’ll be a little more positive

Did anyone send Morse code to the mountain man and his cooncat that we won ?
@Gramoah ?
I watched this game. The Coon Cat passed away about a month ago of cancer so we've lost his mostly correct predictions. I've tried to get his twin brother to fill in but he's more interested in cooking shows than football. I blame my wife for that. I'm going to miss this next game though because I'll be in the Catskills Trying to get a rug for you know who and a fur hat for guess who. I'm only after the meat. Send email report at half time. Once in awhile I can get a signal down there in the woods.

Green Bay is one dimensional with our run defense. We have a defense and a rushing attack and I think our ability to flip the field on special teams we steal this game. Next game at Lions is winnable. My fear is Chicago has a good team if we can control the clock then maybe but doubt it. The Browns, Patriots, Dolphins and Raiders are all winnable games. Chiefs Bills, and Chargers could be a three game skid. Get Dolphins again sweep the series into the bye. Broncos, Cardinals, Patriots can go on a three game winning streak but final game lose to Bills in Buffalo.

I know no one will be optimistic as I am but we could have a decent season, waltzing into the playoffs with a 12 - 5 record and if we do, the fan base will be ecstatic. it is time for our chance of feeding off the New York Knicks, jes sayin
