If one penalty in 1,343 snaps tells us anything, hopefully it's that he has self-control!

When you watch the tape he plays very physically, almost violent in the way he attacks QBs and RBs. I was pretty surprised when I read the penalty stat.

Controlled violence?! What more could we ask for!

I'm not sure his type of game will transfer into NFL. NFL is a big jump for him facing the elite best O-Linemen in every game from last 7 years in front of him trying to mug him. A Physical college LB that faced only a hand full of NFL caliber Linemen time to time & then change to every game is going to be tough. I hope you are right gmf & this guy is a beast! Boy do we ever need a Sack machine & QB pressure by a LB badly. Good post gmf!

I think you can say that about every player making the transition from college to the pros. The kid is smart, plays under control, has the measurables that you look for and can play the run. No, he doesn't have elite speed like Lee, but he has a lot of the intangibles that spell long term success in the NFL.

Agree 1000%... plus the system he played in college is what it is.... his measurable's and his intangibles will translate fine if the system he is used in exploits the things he does and does well..

To me he is Calvin Pace 2.0 and that's a compliment.... Pace never may have been as flashy as his 1st rd pick hopes made him out to be for Arizonza in 2003 and he even seemed like a bust his first 3-4 years until Arizona moved to the 3-4 Defense and put him at OLB.... All of a sudden you had a guy that can rush the passer in the right game moment situations... Can stop the run and when he was younger drop into coverage and did all of those things on an above average level... He found the system for his skillset

If Jenkins is Calvin Pace 2.0 for a 3rd pick.... that's a steal.
