looking towards the draft,I think the jets should trade Richardson for picks.the jets have Williams to take his place.this draft is loaded with great picks in the first four rounds.in doing so the jets can fill many needs.
Won't get anything close to his worth.
I would argue that mo is really good, abs is important to the Jets success. However, he wants suh and watt money, and it's not worth being financially handicapped to keep him. If he would take 13/year for 7 years it would make sense, but when we have 16 in cap room and he wants 17,how do we build a winner?Wilkerson had a very good year, and certainly deserves to get paid well. He's a difference maker, without a doubt, and someone the Jets should make every effort to retain. Unfortunately, because he had such a good year, he's going to ask for the Moon. I'm not going to fault him for that. He's earned a big payday. The Jets have other priorities, too, though. If he's asking for JJ Watt money, it might be best to tag and trade if someone's willing to give up a first rounder. Then you re-sign Snacks and probably look at re-signing Richardson next year.
Latest rumor I've heard is that the Raiders are very interested in Wilkerson. If I'm Oakland, I'd give up a first round pick in a heartbeat for Mo. That defense is already getting pretty scary.

Good points
With that top dog talent all over the roster the Mighty Raidaz might even be able to eke past the Tiajuana Chargers into 3rd place behind Den and KC in 2016
The Raiders did that already moved past the Chargers, and have their sites on the big boys in the division. Let's see what each roster looks like come September after Fa , and the draft. Both the Bronco's and the Chiefs are going to lose some players that were a big part to their success.
Only after the offseason moves will we see how the Raiders matchup with the top dogs in their division.( Raiders might be stealing some of the Bronco's and Kc Chiefs talent.)
Which means they might not see mo worth 16mil plus a 1st. They can grab a pass rusher in the draft.Raiders are up and coming. Carr, Cooper, Mack. I think the Raiders with another good offseason are headed for the playoffs.

Which makes this negotiation tough. He's worth a top 6 or 7 de contract, but if we don't sign him there's not a huge demand for him via trade. I think we're almost at a point where we can let him hit fa, and match any offer he gets. It would be less than the tag and then we can move past this talk for 4 or 5 years. That of course runs the risk of losing him and getting nothing for it. This is a tough one.

I agree, I don't believe they will take that path, but with our cap, Mos injury, Richardson suspension, it's starting to look like there's no good solution. If we lose Wilkerson to FA and get nothing for him, I will officially have my first issue with Maccagnan. There's just no way he can let that happen. Honestly, I don't think it would ever happen.
extremely tough.. i trust mac to make the right decision with wilkerson but LOLz i myself am certainly not sure what the "right decision" is at this point..Which means they might not see mo worth 16mil plus a 1st. They can grab a pass rusher in the draft.
