More Oline Depth

A lot of depth being added on both lines. Other than Carpenter, everyone seems like 30ish backup types.

On the DL we need either cheap vet backup (Check) or late rd still on their first contract young backups.

Of course that perform well and fit the system goes without saying

The OL is our biggest work in progress this training camp.

Competent veteran backups who may or may not make the team are excellent to have on both lines.

Like the old saying goes, Nope!!

My guess: Douzable is looking for a certain price that may be starter salary. He knows he can probably start on a few teams, and is just holding out for that opportunity.

It would suck to lose him, but I can't blame him.

If he thinks he's a starter he's delusional. Sometimes popular role players and backups can get an overinflated opinion of themselves based on the fans affection, especially if their agent is pumping them up with delusions of grandeur too, and they forget who they are. Douzable is an overachiever and a quality backup, but if he is your starter you are scrambling like crazy to find an upgrade thru free agency or the draft, so I don't see any team paying him like a starter and bringing him in to start, thats why he's still sitting around without a home (if he really believes that), and now he may have lost his home with the Jets, where he was well liked and making a good living as a backup.

Only time will tell if Bowles can get certain players to "overachieve" like Rex did.

While they run similar schemes, I have to expect some players will shine more with TB, and others less (hopefully we have more of the former)!

So while we're basing all our opinions on what we've seen in the past, only time will tell which players were worth keeping and which weren't what we thought they were. A year from now these discussions will likely be WAY more informed based on what we see over the next 16 (or more :talking-to-god-smil) games . . .

I definitely agree with the above posts about depth on the lines. Might add a few lineman in the draft depending on how the board shakes out. Have some competition and see how it turns out.
