It seemed like an obvious fit, but it's good to see it done.
I like the signing. Now can he play a full season?
That would be refreshing.
Dude seems to have all the potential in the world and he’s only 27 years old. Problem and concerns are his injury history and the fact that this is his forth team in his short NFL career. Is it just because of his injury history or is he a head case that we just don’t know about yet? This is his 5 or 6 year in the league and he’s already played for three other teams. This concerns me abit!
A really good move. We have a screaming need of some power in the LB position. If Alexander can stay healthy, this defense can wreak havoc.
In 12 games last season, Alexander had 50 tackles, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble and an INT. He’s a productive player. But he’s had quite a few injuries throughout his career. Still, only 27 so hopefully the injury bug is behind him. Can play the strong side or weak side OLB spots. Good versatility. I think he’s better than Quincy Williams. But we’ll see how it all lines up.
This is a very nice signing. Seasoned vet at the #3 linebacker spot and great depth for QW and CJ
At the very least, it’s depth at a position that really needs it. This wasn’t a big contract. But Alexander has shown productivity under Saleh before. And Sherwood still has a lot to prove that he’s a starter.
They will play eventually. But we simply didn't have enough talent. If Sherwood shows himself, he will get playing time. But it's not fair to the rest of the team to have their success determined by a dearth of talent at LB.
Any player added to the linebacker position helps.
See I don’t believe any of that. The Jets are building a team that will win yearly and the only way to do that is to continue to move forward . One of the reasons I love this regime is because they approach reminded me so much of the Steelers approach. You continually draft players strategically and that way you always have replacements in case you have to let someone leave via free agency because of their impending cap hit . If the kids don’t play we’ll never know what we have . Our young core is not always going to be cheap and we won’t be able to afford contracts like these even on the cheap .
Tinstar I agree with you about letting our young guys grow and get better together but at the same time I think that there has to be a few veterans sprinkled in to help show them the way. Having the vets in the locker room is one thing, but having one on the field next to them, teaching and leading by example is priceless. Kwon is on a 1 year deal. It’s not like the book has been closed on our young LB’s. And he is a proven playmaker. You and I disagree on this. I think this is a great signing.
