Tinstar I agree with you about letting our young guys grow and get better together but at the same time I think that there has to be a few veterans sprinkled in to help show them the way. Having the vets in the locker room is one thing, but having one on the field next to them, teaching and leading by example is priceless. Kwon is on a 1 year deal. It’s not like the book has been closed on our young LB’s. And he is a proven playmaker. You and I disagree on this. I think this is a great signing.
I think that’s what C J. Mosley is on our roster for . The worst thing to have on a developing roster is a veteran living off his rep who also happens to be injury prone. I’m not worried about Alexander because with his history he’s liable to hurt himself getting out of bed

See I don’t believe any of that. The Jets are building a team that will win yearly and the only way to do that is to continue to move forward . One of the reasons I love this regime is because they approach reminded me so much of the Steelers approach. You continually draft players strategically and that way you always have replacements in case you have to let someone leave via free agency because of their impending cap hit . If the kids don’t play we’ll never know what we have . Our young core is not always going to be cheap and we won’t be able to afford contracts like these even on the cheap .
One of these days you will realize that there isn't so much good and bad team building philosophies but instead good and bad decisions. Idzik and Macc weren't awful because of their approaches. Instead, they were awful because of their decisions.

And Kwon’s familiar with Saleh’s defense. I believe part of the problem with the D last season was the fact that so many players were brand new to the defense. I think it was a factor in the struggles they had. Not just lack of talent.

I get that, but I liked the way this regime is conducting this rebuild.

I would say there are both. You can spend big money in free agency, but that is usually reserved for a roster that is close to truly competing. Tearing down and building through the draft is more appropriate when the cupboard is bare and the team has little cap room. So while there may not be bad approaches per se, there are times when some approaches are better than others.

Both what? I'm sorry but I'm not clear about what you mean.
