Is Alijah Vera Tucker underappreciated?

Well that is the statements by Jets teammates Elijah Moore & Michael Carter on social media.

“I woke up this morning thinking about how AVT doesn’t get enough love man,” Carter recently tweeted. “Bro really a beast.” Moore responded with a quote tweet, stating, “Facts! Let’s make sure he get light like he scoring touchdowns! Don’t get enough credit.”

AVT made the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie team and had the second-highest Pro Football Focus run-blocking grade among guards. The Jets, meanwhile, tallied eight rushes of at least 10 yards behind Vera-Tucker, according to Jets X-Factor’s Michael Nania.

Vera-Tucker led Gang Green in offensive snaps with 1,027. The USC product allowed just two sacks over his 16 NFL games. While Vera-Tucker may not be the Jets’ flashiest youngster, he enjoyed a terrific debut season after New York traded up to draft him.

needs to improve his pass blocking skills.....pressures he did surrender....but overall for a rookie he is headed in right direction.

not so much his skills but his anchor was a bit sloppy
which led to choppy footwork where he ended up getting his team mate hurt

his hand placement is solid could be more aggressive with the initial punch otherwise he kept on getting better as the season went on

he will, footwork from left tackle to left guard there is a transition from out wide to in a phone booth
at the beginning of the season it was clear he was out of sorts, Becton got hurt then putting a veteran there allowed AVT to find his footwork so to speak.

but still his initial punch at times seems less than it needs to be more consistent...
