The New York Jets welcomed four free agents to Florham Park to try out some new faces at prime positions on Wednesday.
Running back Kendall Hunter, tight end Rob Housler, defensive end Tim Jamison, and linebacker Ryan Mueller spent the day with Jets trainers in the hopes of getting a call back.
Hunter was waived/injured by the 49ers, with whom he played four seasons after being drafted by the club in 2011 out of Oklahoma State. He has seven career touchdowns on 262 attempts and 1,202 yards.
A third-round selection by Arizona four seasons ago, Rob Housler has one touchdown in three seasons with that club and another in Cleveland, consistently averaging around 10 yards per reception on 106 career catches.
Tim Jamison went undrafted out of Michigan in 2009, eventually playing with Houston until 2014. He has 50 career tackles and 4.5 sacks while forcing a fumble.
Undrafted this year out of Kansas State, Ryan Mueller is a veteran of the San Diego Chargers’ practice squad.
