Overall, not a bad season. Now, it's 13 years out of the playoffs and 8 straight losing seasons. Definitely worth extending JD and Saleh.

Amazing how time flies, the Jets little playoff drought is growing up right before our eyes and has reached puberty
A few more years, it can get a summer job, date a few nice female droughts, maybe even go to a good college. Then soon, it will settle down and have a bunch of little droughts and watch them branch out, grow up and ruin many more Sundays. Someday, when it's old and wizened, maybe a 90 yr old drought by then, someone will ask if it had any regrets. It'll think a bit and say, "all in all? perhaps we should have drafted better"

Not even a FG attempt. That takes a SPECIAL level of ineptitude. You could say that the O line coach should be canned, but what can you do with Becton, Tomlinson, and two randomly selected dudes on the other side? The RB coach said during the week that he expects a rushing breakout; that'll be Breece demanding to be traded.

But, and this is where statistics comes into play, a very important way to view a team during a season is to look for trends as opposed to a problem in a single outing. A fix can turn out to be something more complex and subtle.

But the value of a given statistic can vary over time.

Back in the 80's, I heard a famous coach that ball control was important, and the number of rushing attempts was more important to winning than rushing yards. So I started keeping track of rushes per game and rushes allowed per game. And I played the weekly pools and kept winning $.
But offensive strategies have changed, and rushes/game is no longer a good predictor of which team will win.

Yup. Statistics, as a reduction to mathematics of the real world, has all sorts of caveats.
A classic of many years back was a chart showing the degree to which women toed out when they walked plotted against their age. The chart clearly showed that older women toed out more.
What makes it of interest is that the obvious assumption is a physiological one. In reality, the effect was societal. Many years back, women were taught to walk toeing out. The practice waned with time.
