Fitz did pretty good. Threw for two touchdowns and was efficient.

"Welcome to the board!"
.
Thanks - good to be aboard again. Glad to hear about Fitz, always liked him, he's had the misfortune to play on some truly lousy teams during his career - it's a miracle he can still walk. Kitna is another qb that experienced the same thing - aggressive, VERY competitive but played on miserable teams. - Between the Bills & Jets maybe we can "change the division" a bit this year.... LOL.

"Rooted for Otto Graham, Ray Renfro, Dante Lavelli, Jim Brown and Lou the Toe until 1960 before the Fightin Titans arrived and went to two Thanksgiving morning games against the Dallas Texans and Oakland Raiders in 60 and 61"

Hear ya' bro - in fact I have a football autographed by Otto Graham. Remember Jim Brown well, took him 5 minutes to get up after every run - all part of the plan. Was a big fan of the LA Rams for awhile, got to watch them occasionally on a small B&W TV.

Love your input Hunter! Always relevant for those who love the sport!

This was posted on another sight and I thought it was perfect regarding this Cumberland
Agree 100% on this, feel that he is a wasted roster spot. When I saw that he was #1 TE on the depth chart because of his blocking I almost threw up. We are better off with Enunwa, Amaro, Saxton and a blocking TE like Davis (although I'm not as high on him as I was when we first picked him up).

One other thing that jumped out at me were the number of attempts downfield with Shaq Evans. What I took away from that were two things: 1) they are giving Evans a shot playing with the 1's which is probably recognition of a strong camp, and 2) insight into how we will use Devin Smith and or Owusu during the season. Evans hasn't really been able to gain much separation, and IMO will likely be cut and maybe brought back on PS. More importantly, you can see the plan for that 3rd WR slot as a stretch the field type with Marshall, Decker and perhaps H-back occupying the short to intermediate zones. That in combination with what appears to be a strong running attack has me hopeful of a nice balanced offensive attack, and a nice compliment to a strong defense.

This was posted on another sight and I thought it was perfect regarding this Cumberland - he is absolutely ineffective at everything he does, I don't see how he's going to stick around. In Chan's offense the TE will have to block for the most part, and he's among the worst blocking TE's I've seen. I've seen Fitz show more passion and physicality as a blocker in one play vs the Giants (where he sprinted down the field to take out a defender on a Bilal Powell run) than Cumberland has since he got here. He's not going to be a weapon in the passing game even if we forced the ball to him, which Chan won't do. Because he can't catch either. He's got to go. I rather have Kellen Davis as a blocker in the lineup with Amaro / Enunwa in the backfield catching passes instead of wasting a roster spot on a TE who can't block or catch and costs us 2+ mil. per year to keep around. Cut the ties.

As ususal the TE position is a black hole. Amaro looking like a huge bust.

Well since Amaro was the most productive TE in last years draft, I guess the entire draft class was a bust

It's not looking good. Look at Ebron. The Lions traded for Tim Wright. ASJ can't seem to stay 100%. I wouldn't say Amaro lit it up last yr, and he was listed #3 on the depth chart before he got hurt.

People are making too much of this 3rd on the depth chart thing. Bowles and Gailey BOTH told the media that it doesn't mean anything and not to read into that. Gailey is using Amaro in a more traditional H-back role.

It's amazing how quickly fans throw out the bust label after one season. Amaro had Geno Smith throwing him the ball. Not exactly Troy Aikman here. His shoulder injury seems to be stirring up a lot of anti-Amaro sentiment around here, and I still haven't figured out why.
