then maybe people should spend time designing, work with and pay a graphic designer and present it here for a vote before the committee

Ah. That explains a lot. Perhaps before any funds were invested it might have made more sense to run the idea past the group for a while. As was done with name suggestions.
MV, with all due respect, elias asked for feedback and said don't hold back. so people gave feedback.
Don't understand where combat experience comes in, which I would never discount. But when it comes to choosing a symbol for a group I would think it would be more important to choose one that did not offend group members than to choose one that some found to be positive. After all, would you use a group symbol that contains a Confederate battle flag?

I meant literally that I had not seen it. If you mentioned it somewhere in the thread, I missed it.
But again, I think avoiding the negative is more important than selecting the positive, if it isn't positive for everyone, in choosing a group symbol.

All right guys. Something must be in the air today because none of us want to read each others posts or frankly give a crap what the other seems to say. That's not what the spirit of this thread was all about and now that it turned into this I truly regret it that we posted it. We obviously value what everyone says and agree with Jet Fan RI that everyone needs to like it but in an environment where everyone has an opinion it's impoossible for us all to agree on something.
I promise you this, we will consider everyone's thoughts and have a redesign. Not promising that the next design will be much different, if at all, but we will look at it from various perspectives. Since this thread has been a complete fail, I will not post our next designs. We will run with it and you'll see it unveiled at the top.
