So it begs the question of the two backups will get the nod for the remainder of the season and will they be able to command this offense with the horrendous play from the offensive line... Can the O.C. come up with a game plan that is suited for the backup/starter?

The running game, run blocking and pass protection are all under the offensive coordinator and needs to be addressed now and moving forward for years to come...

Petty is likely the guy they will roll with unless they sign some bum off the street...

Feel bad for him. Did you watch his post game interview? Heart breaking.

Build a darn offensive line. How much more proof do we need

I saw it, but in the first half they should of pulled him because he was wincing which the defense knew it and attacked until they knocked him clear out the game... it also explains the ill bullshit first half not calling a timeout when we clearly could of done something or attempted to have some pride...

I feel for him, he played outstanding this season but it is what it is a half build offense with good skill players but no offensive line, no future at QB just because I say that, just look how prepared Petty the backup was when he came in... No game plan for the backup and it showed... At the same time this lies on the O.C. in preparation of the offense from every player not just the starters... Knowing your personnel not just the players who are likely to get all the snaps, because injuries do happen and need to be better prepared then they showed today...

Couldn't agree more... It wouldn't matter about the plan B because the OL was atrocious ...they better get some dam OL talent or else it will not matter.

even shuffling things around and placing players where they excel could help this offensive line play much better than they shown... Beachum is a right tackle and playing him at left has killed us all season long... if we can find a left tackle in free agency or the draft, then we need to do so... Brandon Shell has been okay not great and sorry but he is who his draft pick selection was a day three project player... Wesley Johnson has been atrocious just by himself, he can not make the correct line calls and leaves gaping holes for a Mack truck to drive through... Brian Winters and James Carpenter are impact blockers meaning give them a target and they will use brute force to push them out of the way...

Possibly targeting Houston Left Tackle Chris Clark for a season, along with Carpenter, Jonotthan Harrison at center, Brian Winters at RG and Kelvin Beachum at right tackle can be the bridge to develop the future starters but we need to draft them this year... I dunno just spit firing, but it is going be tough to replace the entire line in one off season...

Losing McCown is the best thing for the Jets. He will make a great coach, but he is not a winning QB. Lets see if Petty has anything. If not then throw Hack out there and lets see what he has. I wish we had 6 games and not 3 to find out.

It's going to be impossible to tell anything about any back up qb given the oline play and the 3 teams left on our schedule. If tom brady were our qb yesterday, the only difference would have been we would have had about 500 more yards of offense due to roughing the passer penalties. They'd still be picking up the flags today

I don't wish injuries upon players but unfortunately I agree. We need to get Petty in for the next 3 games truly evaluate what we have. Cause in all honesty I think Hack isn't the answer. SO they need to see if
A) Petty can be the guy
B) If He can be a Quality backup
C) or won't be on the roster next year.

McCown out for the season

It seems that McCown broke his hand and is out for the season. I am surprised he made it this far through the season. He has never made it through a season that I can remember. It was good that we had him to help develop some of our young talent but now Petty, who my friends tell me failed miserably Sunday, and Hackenberg will have to shit or get off the pot. I didn't get to watch Sundays game so I am only going on what I was told about Petty's performance. I have a feeling that our draft position just improved.
