"Justin Time"?

During our "Trevor' dream until week 15, I still was not a Justin Fields guy.
But....so far his Pro Day (40 yard dash) and a table showing his improved stats from 2019, makes a case.
I wish the draft was tomorrow, we take Zach and not look back!

The main thing critics point out about him is that he has difficulty reading defenses.
And that is the one thing a pro day can't demonstrate.
And then there's that THE OSU quarterback making the NFL legacy of ... ?.
Hard pass.
I'd rather draft a quarterback who played at a real institution of higher learning.

No, I favor Zach. He can.
It was my obligatory shot at THE Ohio State University and the scholar athletes (snicker) who go there.
It goes back to Bob Ferguson, a RB who played there. In three productive college years he had never been thrown for a loss. He was a #1 draft pick of the Steelers and was cut because he couldn't read the playbook. He said that when he was in college, he only had to know three plays.
And quarterbacks who played there have never had success in the NFL because of the simplicity of their college offense.

I got 7 1/2 to 1, man to man. I knew I didn't need no steenking points to win my bet.
My second best bet was when I predicted the 10-10 tie in the famous Notre Dame - Michigan State game.

Justin's stock rising is a problem for J.D.? That just seems completely silly to me. If the Jets decide to trade the pick, Justin's impressive Pro Day just increases the value of the pick. Otherwise they take whomever they like best. Either way, no problem for J.D.

While it's your right to think it's silly, it's my right to feel a conundrum down the road. Why? 1. I'm not interested in a trade down, I want a top tier quarterback. 2. I've been a Jets fan too long not to know, the onus is on J.D. If down the road the "other" quarterback NOT picked by J.D. (if it's now Fields in the picture with Zach),and the one not picked turns out to better, J.D. will hear about it.

I remember Chuck Knoll inventing the wrist play card because Terry Bradshaw was and I QUOTE "The dumbest athlete on the field." True story. Seems Terry couldn't remember play calls or anything. So Knoll devised a system "even a child could understand." Guess it worked.

a cup of coffee. Abner Haynes. In a scrimmage, Namath handed off to him, and saw no daylight and lateralled back to Namath`who got creamed.
Weeb cut him that day.
Moral of the story, when Namath gets rid of the ball, never get it back to him. Broken jaws and cheekbones may appear.
