So just because you have family that were in the department doesn't actually give you the right to step on everyone else's right to protest.
I'm sure your dad was a great upstanding officer, but the few rogue are ruining it for everyone else.
I'm not saying I agree with Kaepernick, but he has the right to his opinion and to protest the MANY wrong doings but officers all over the country.
To each his own, but because someone has a different opinion or point of view than you doesn't make them a dirtbag.

You totally missed the point, where did I do any name calling or insulting??? I didn't and that was the point.
Attacking someone isn't anyone's right no matter how you feel. Your opinion is yours but insulting and attacking others because of their stance is out of bounds.
Is wearing those socks a protest?? or is it insinuating ALL cops are pigs?? It doesn't appear to differ on the socks the good cops from the rogue cops. It seems to encompass ALL cops as one.
What's next, socks with swastikas on them? Would burning crosses socks be OK?

I know what your saying but none of them are a part of a professional ball players uniform in front of million of viewers to make a statement.
I agree he's on a public stage, but the man has his right to protest what he feels is injustice (whether we agree or not). The socks need to go but hey it's not my place to call in (***fill in black***) because I don't agree with his stance.

Absolutely not, read his original post, he is calling the man a dirtbag. That is what I was referring to. I never said I disagree with "Bigmoe" stance (quite the opposite), I was referring to attacking the man because of his stance.

You are most certainly entitled by the constitution to call someone a name, given that it is a commonly held, reasonable opinion.

With all due respect, hatnlvr, I think it is you who is missing the point. Kaepernick does have the right to protest, and other people have the right to call him whatever they want for the despicable, revolting way he has chosen to protest. Frankly, I think Bigmoe understated what a lowlife scumbag Kaepernick is for wearing socks depicting cops as pigs, and for disrespecting our great country in general. There are a million ways he could have chosen to protest that would have been fine, but apparently, in his feeble mind, the cops who lay their lives on the line every day to protect us, the cops who have GIVEN their lives in the line of duty, the vast majority of cops in this country who are good and heroic figures who serve the public nobly - they simply don't count with him. I have less than zero respect for him.
