Personally, I am fine with the protest. Why care what someone else chooses to do in life. I have too much to worry about to care what socks someone has on or whether they choose to stand for the anthem or not. Besides, how many people stand up during the anthem while at home when it comes on before games, debates, etc.

The KKK has the right to assemble and make disgusting comments about minorities, but than doesn't mean that the rest of civil society should just ignore it and say "whatever". We condemn that way of thinking because it's misguided and wrong.

Kaepernick is misguided and wrong about his stereotyping of police officers. And his selective thinking in pigeonholing cops as the biggest threat to black people's lives is yet another example of ignoring the fact that young black males are murdered at a much higher rate by....

So Colin Kaepernick can take his grandstanding political activism somewhere else, as far as I'm concerned. Repeating a lie or half truth over and over doesn't eventually make it a truth.

The President of the United States made a speech that leaned toword denouncing the police. Mere Days after 5 cops were murdered in Dallas. This is what the grand stage does. What fallout becomes of this? Opening day, before the opening kickoff even. How many "oppressed" feeling individuals in the stands decide to sit out the anthem? Others take offense, fights get started and innocent bystanders and security personnel are at risk. This guy is a piece of shit. Abandonded by his parents and taken in to be given a charmed life by a Caucasian couple but still oppressed by evil whitey. Right. Honestly I'm pissed more at the media for giving this 2nd stringer attention. I love football but I just turned of 98.7 because the topic became Kaepernick. Can't we talk football? The first week of the season is upon us.

He has every right to stage his protest - kneeling for the National Anthem served the purpose he wanted, I heard hours of discussion on police vs. black citizens in the aftermath on sports radio, on websites, etc. - many called in to call Kaepernick a dirt bag, but the discussion always turned.

BUT - the socks have to go. It amounts to name-calling, and, as mentioned above, it brands an entire group of people based on the actions of a small percentage. In my eyes anyway, it detracts from the seriousness of his original protest.

Unfortunately this isn't the same country that I grew up in. I'm very thankful that I am old enough to have experienced the way it was when the greatest generation ran this in charge. (I'm also grateful that I remember when the Jets won the Super Bowl!) Am I showing my age?

I take it by education you mean in the academic sense? Well yes - it is available isn't it?
Scholarships and financial aid in various forms.
Only one problem - the achievement of aquiring a college (or trade school) education requires a thing called EFFORT. Getting one's ass to bed at night, up in the morning, classes, studying in between and working part time for minimal spending cash.
